Seems it makes a lot more power than the FZ6R.

does have a stated what 10 or more horsepower than the fz? the faired one looks pretty sweet. It does say both are right now for the EU market though. Could be a while before we see any.

yea I love the look of the naked version, but so far it seems that just the full faired version will be available in the US.

Checking the specs, it is very close to the FZ6R.

I prefer the look of the CBR650F to the naked, but then I like the look of the FZ6R too!
It just goes to show -Honda couldn't beat the FZ6R,
So they made one.

Will be interesting to see how it sells.
The Suzuki GS650F hasnt done as well here in Aus as the FZ6R, maybe marketing the bike with Marquez would provide the leverage for buyers

6R makes about 80 and the cbr makes 85 (both at the crank nor rwhp). Not a big enough difference to justify paying more. CBR is a heavy bike as well with a little less torque and higher rpm for max power. I've cut at least 20 lbs off my bike and added about 5 hp with exhaust. Hell I could have a brand new 2012 fz1 for $7500 right now if I had the money. No way I'd pay that much for a bike that I wouldn't keep.

very good point about the FZ1, plus when a new model comes out they dont deal on it, even if it costs more than competing models.

i have been spending a lot of time on the internet lately, being unemployed and all. i happened across honda's powersports webpage looking for possible career opportunities for the hell of it. there she was..... the new honda cbr 650... looks to me like honda has brought something to the playground to compete with the ninja 650 and the fz6r.... it even boasts an inline 4 like our beloved fz6r.... but how does it stack up? i didn't find much on information come horsepower or ft-lbs... the price tag looked like mid 8's.... I'm a honda guy, had this beauty been available when i was looking for bikes i might have gone with it... even now as an fz6r rider i look at it and wonder....and in all honesty i wished i could have a lighter, more fuel efficient bike without sacrificing any of my fz6r's power...but its just not there... so I'm content with what i have... but this new machine is quite a spectacle... maybe a little late... but I'm really thrilled to know what it looks like compared to the fz6r.

opinions, comments, information, please.

my biggest wonder is going to be its ride, sure its heavier, sure its lacking or torque ( as read in the other post "competition" ) but honda is known for its dependability and its ride. after reading the other post i realize this wouldn't be much of a trade up.... unless it get significantly different mpg.... i can't see my self riding anything heavier than what i won right now.... my fz6r is a cow... and hard for me to get out of situations like a flat parking space if i have to back out.... so i tend to park where i can just pull out...i can pick her up but its no picnic .....i wish i could ride something that weighed like a 250, got gas milage like a 250, but had the confidence and stability of a 600 and power of my fz6r... but that just isn't on the market.... ( the ktm endure 690r is a close bet though ) lol
