Well with the wifes permission I have the chance to upgrade to another bike. So I wanna get advice on which supersport is the best bang for buck. Ive looked at a zx6r, r6, gsxr 600. The prices are a little higher on these and hoping to get one below $10,000 new. if not I will look into a good used one so what do u all think?
Why do you wish the upgrade? That's the true question. Let me toss this at you, because it may help your decision process:
I work in the Walmart Electronics Department. We've a long line of laptops. From left to right, they go from $295 to $695. Every day, sometimes many times a day, customers asks me what they need.
How the heck should I know? Well, I do. It's my job. I ask them what they plan on doing with their new laptop. For the vast majority, the ones on the left of the row will do everything they wish to do and more.
As we go left to right, each is a little bit better. As the prices go up, so does the capability of the laptop. A better processor, bigger hard drive, maybe more RAM.
You tell me what you intend on your future uses for that computer, and I can pretty well gauge what you need, and how much you should spend.
The ironic thing is that nearly everyone falls into two categories: Far left or in the middle. Once I find what the person needs, they never need the big, fast expensive ones on the far right.
The people who buy those don't ask my opinion. They already know that's what they need. They're about to spend three times the cost of the lower end laptop because they already know that what they are going to do with it justifies the higher cost and they need that power to do what they need to do.
They're Power Users, they've done their research, they know that they are going to stretch that machine to it's limits with what they do, and they know that what they are spending all that money on is justified, because they're going to need that power.
I've been riding since 1985. I don't sell motorcycles. But I could probably gauge a Rider's need pretty much the same way.
With a motorcycle it's WAY more complicated. I could write bookoo paragraphs on that one. But the end question is the same:
You need better than the FZ6R? Why? What bugs you about it and what are you looking for?
The FZ6R isn't perfect. It's just the perfect compromise. Tell us what you want and why. I've had lots of bikes. I won't do your research for you, but I might could point you at some prospects.
