kawasaki H2 superbike

I have been following the news about this bike and boy when I watched that video with the sound clip of it chirping!!! Well lets say I needed a change of underwear :s

I just so can't wait for this thing to be revealed, I'm interested to see what specs it has and also what price range of the market they will be aiming for???

Exciting times ahead that's for sure!

I like what I'm hearing. Revs like a 750, torque like a V twin, more power than a litre bike, probably lightweight too.

We are one step closer to my flying spaceship bike with robot navigator that I was supposed to have by 2000.

I am not a Kawi' fan. BUT... that pic is one seriously aggressive looking piece of machinery, the sound clip is very intriguing and if they've perfected a turbo or supercharger on a bike, that is exciting indeed.

I'm not saying it is, because of course I don't know, but maybe we are about to see something truly new and awesome hit the motorcycling world. I find it difficult not to be excited. OK, I'm excited.

I think what a lot of Super Sport riders will be looking for is more torque. 100+ hp is great and exhilarating but 75+ tq is more useful for the street. I don't wish my GSXR 750 to have more power but I wish that it had more torque at 3-6K rpms. I also wish it was geared differently but that is another story.

On the one hand the 750 makes sense. I don't remember the exact numbers, so don't flame me, but the Suzuki concept I believe was a 600 turbo, maybe a 750. Torque of a liter with the rev of a 600. This would be a direct competitor.

On the other hand, Kawasaki has been proudly displaying their achievements through the years as having the fastest bikes of the era. A supercharged 1k fits the bill. Maybe something smaller like the ZX10R, but with power like the 14?

Or who knows, maybe a smaller ZX14R WITH a supercharger?? Methinks that to be just a wet dream ;)

Another online mag was speculating it could be a triple ?

Sounds like an inline 4 to me, then again maybe a short stroke triple would sound like that too ? Anyone that owns a triple want to listen ?

At the start of the video is does sound similar to my mt09 in what seems like low revs. There is a bit of a whine (for lack of better word), but that could be from the suspected supercharger.

I have heard and ridden Yamaha's latest triple; but the upper rpms do not sound like the video. This sounds like a supercharged free-revving 600/750 inline 4.

I was riding with a ZX10R a little while ago and I had to flog my FZ1 like a 600SS to stay with him. I was coming out of turns in 3rd and 4th at 8k RPM or higher and grabbing as much throttle as I could as soon as I could see out of the turn just to keep him in sight, tagging redline down the straights to get every bit of go my bike had. That Kawi is a seriously fast bike.

I'm not down on Kawi, they just don't make what I want to ride. Sure they make solid, stupid-fast motorcycles. I don't need stupid-fast, though. I need fast enough and then everything else I harp on that I love in the 6R.

It's the technology that has me excited. Imagine getting the performance of a 600 with the weight of a much smaller engine. If the technology is solid, and we're going to see trickle-down and competitor builds...

A significant boost in available horse power from a smaller engine. It's like going from carburated to fuel injected, or drum brakes to disk. It could possibly be an industry-wide evolution in motorcycles. THAT is exciting! :D

Also a lot of countries are stuck with 250cc bikes and not much bigger because of costs... that's why there are people screwing around with turbo and supercharging small bikes in other parts of the world.

The only issue I have with the Ninja 250 is the absolute lack of straight line power. In the corners, it is nearly faultless. Imagine something like that with a turbo or super cranking out the power of our bikes. That would be as close to a perfect machine as you might ever get.

But yeah, can't wait to finally see the H2. SO EXCITED (even though I realize I will probably never even get the chance to sit on one)
