Joe's Ghetto Fender Eliminator Mod

[CtrlAltDl]

Tools/Materials required:
1. Allen Wrenches
2. Wire Cutters
3. #2 Philips
4. Angle Grinder
5. Black Paint
6. Welder or JB Weld
7. 10mm Socket or Wrench
8. Welding clamps or Vise Grips

Directions:
1. Remove 4 Allen bolts below the seat that are under tool kit.

2. Cut the wires, but give your self 5-6 inches of wire.

3. Now remove the 3 wire zip-ties.

4. Unscrew the back 4 philips screws.

5. Separate the fender frame from the plastic cover.

6. Unbolt the license plate mount.

7. Cut the fender frame with the angle grinder.
(Sorry didn't take pictures of this part)

8. Cut the top center section of the license plate mount.

9. Clean areas to be welded with the angle grinder.

10. Weld the license plate frame bolts to the cut fender mounts.

11. Paint

I just did the same thing. Thanks for the idea. I kept mine just a little longer and kept the whole rear part together. (License plate, turn signals...) I kind of cut off 6" to 8" and bolt both ends back together. I will pick some pictures later on. Look good. I might be the only one but I like the stock look... was just way too long.

Looks good, much better than stock. I'm not a fan of the reflectors, but you know what they say, "function before fashion".

I did something very similar to what you did but I used a section of the rear fender where the lisence plate light wires and such ran through. Also used the factory turn signals but took the extension off of them and cut and resoldered the wires.
