Bikes can drift?

They actually end up drifting lots in motogp, it's just so controlled that it doesn't look like it. When the track is wet you'll see more of the drift.

I saw the video a couple months ago, very entertaining. I've been contemplating learning how to drift with a bike in a very closed and private lot. But it seems alot harder than they make it look, unlike cars...

LMAO!!!! not like cars??? Have you ever actually done it in a car? Not a doughnut or a simple corner.. I mean rally, or actual drift? I ran rally america for 3 years, not so easy.... I also have the great pleasure of having several friends who drift daily, and run competitive.

Easier as in compared to a bike. Mess up a drift in a car worst case scenario if (you wernt doing it on the side of a cliff), You scratch it...on a bike >_< let's not think about it. If I had an appropriate car to drift, I'd try to learn somewhere. I drive a minivan for now, not so good at turning with speed.

I actually did drift in it, while trying to hurry my ass home. It was scary as hell but not too messy. It was one corner, I don't want to run it into a wall and the street isn't somewhere to practice.

I would race competitively if I could, rally racing is like a dream of mine. Can't be in the clouds all day though. Oh, on that note my aunt might be donating a 2003 mazda protege 5 to me. She wants to sell it to me, but no way am I paying for it. I would race that if I got it. I think I'd have to do some maintenance cuz I don' think she has maintained it well. The ebrake doesn't work, the brakes suck, the engine is leaking oil, so I was thinking of an engine rebuild kit for 550$. Sigh, I hope I get it...

Cars are easy to drift. Dpnt act like its a complicated process LOL
Ever drive a 500 RWHP 03 cobra? Well its Pretty easy to drift that thing anywhere you want to. Hell i can even drift my front wheel drive Cobalt SS. All you need is a little power and no fear of crashing the car and you can drift. Its the people yhat are scared that its complicated for....

And yeah bike driftin has been around for a little bit, its cool, but just not quite as entertaining as car driftin to me, a bike shouldnt be sliding curves, they shoul be hugging them like they're designed to.

It's more prominent in Supermotard action footages specially in races when the riders back it in and stay sideways. The riding style mostly comes from dirt...

Here is a more practical application of a stock bike getting sideways entering a corner. It's a Daytona 955i btw and about 498 pounds with a full tank of gas.
