Where to get +1 front sprocket in the UK

I want to put a +1 front sprocket on my XJ6 but I've not been able to find anyone supplying them. I've searched on Google, eBay etc for a source and can't find anything. Does anyone know where I can get a +1 sprocket or if a part for a different bike would fit? Thanks

    Is my tyre 'squared off'

This is a photo of the rear tyre on my XJ6, it's the original BT021 with 7,500 miles on it. My question is does it need replacing? Its started to flatten off on the centre but I'm not really sure how worn it can go before it's time to replace it. I'd appreciate some advice Thanks Pete

Gotta have it - Daytona 675

Went in to the Yamaha dealer today, mainly for a cuppa to warm up after a spirited mornings riding on the XJ6. Saw a Triumph Daytona 675 in the show room so I took it for a test ride - OMG  I couldn't stop grinning :):):):) Awsome bike, fuel warning light came on after 10 miles so...

    XJ6 v R1

Interesting article in this weeks MCN (UK) where they put a member of the MCN staff on an R1 as the 'average rider' and WSB star Cal Crutchlow on the same R1, an R6, XJR 1300 and finally a naked XJ6. Cal was still able to do a faster lap on the XJ6 than the 'average rider' on the R1. So...

Six day road trip round North of England

Just returned from a six day road trip round the North of England. Did just under 1,000 miles with excellent weather and no rain :) Had the first nights accommodation booked before we set of, but after that just booked it as we went. Took a Samsung N210 netbook with us which fits nicely in a...

    Nearly binned it

So I'm approaching a round about in a line of traffic this morning. The traffic is doing about 10mph (who knows with a Yamaha speedo :) ) Anyway, there is no traffic on the round about so the vehicles in front are all proceeding smoothly on to the roundabout. Just as the car in front gets...

    Another speedometer accuracy test.

Got a GPS for the bike yesterday so got it installed on to the bike last night. Today went out in my VW Golf with the new GPS on a flat, straight road in an open area – that is no buildings, trees, direction or elevation changes. In the Golf with 1/3rd warn tyres (tires :)) the speedometer...

    Genuine Yamaha Tail Tidy

In this weeks (26/05/2010) printed issue of MCN (Motorcycle News UK | Motorbikes | MCN) there is a four page advertising spread from Yamaha and it shows a photo of a 'License Plate Holder' - read tail tidy - for bikes including the XJ6. It takes the original turn signals, and has LED number...

    First weekend away

Just come back from a weekend on the North Norfolk coast with my partner on our XJ6 Diversions. This was out first trip away since we started biking three months ago so it was a bit of a test to see how we got on. Weather was perfect, warm, dry and sunny. Did about 100 miles from home down...

    Weird turn signal fault

Had my XJ6 Diversion for about 3 months now, 1700 miles on it. Yesterday rode out with the partner stopped for an hour. Jumped back on the bikes and after a couple of minutes she says 'why aren't you signaling' Well I thought was but after flicking the turn switch left/right/cancel a...

    Cooling fan modification

Partners '09 XJ6 Diversion went in for its 600 mile service last week. The dealer contacted us to say a stone had somehow managed to jam the radiator cooling fan stopping it from spinning. When they removed it the fan was very noisy in operation so they ordered a new fan. Dealer...

    Service intervals

What is the service interval for the FZ6R? I have an XJ6S in the UK and the service interval in the owners manual is 6000 miles, but I've seen on pages elseswhere on the 'net 4000 mile interval for the FZ6R and also 5000Km (3200 miles). Pete
