I was changing my oil and filter today. Took off the fairings, untightened the filter a quarter turn and took out the drain plug and started draining the oil. When I was looking to see if the draining was done, I noticed what looked like a big washer laying on the mat and I have no idea where...
I have the Forcefield back protector insert for my jacket so I can give you an idea on my experiences on that which may/may not help.
I ordered a CE 2 rated Forcefield back insert for my Alpinestars jacket. The jacket only had foam so I wanted to up the protection. The Forcefield armor...
I would suggest taking the bodywork off. As Edromo said its not a big deal at all. Just taking the bolts out, unplugging the turn signals, etc. You'll eventually need to remove the bodywork sometime when you do a few more mods or change fluids so it may be a good idea to figure out how to...
If your battery is completely fried then if you can get it jump started and get going, you may be in the same place where it won't start again. Batteries can get to a point where you can't save them - if it's fried or it's been sitting for so long that that it's lost it's charge to the point of...
On top of what blackbird said, you may want to double check your fuses.
If the battery isn't the problem (you can take it to autozone or something like that and they can check the charge) then my guess is that you may have at least fried your starter, maybe more.
It's always better to have the sliders and not use them than not to have them and need them. I hope the stars align and you never drop it. I was good for about 5 months. What got me was I was stopping in a parking area on a pretty substantial left to right incline with my front wheel turned a...
Great looking bike! Only 700+ miles is great. The bike looks brand new too. I think frame sliders is a good first mod if you're new. Hopefully you don't drop the bike but if you do it'll help. I dropped mine on accident and it has shogun frame sliders. Absolutely no damage to anything other...
That was my plan too - have the brake lines as an over winter project but with the weather as nice as it has been here in Ohio and due to impatience I took care of it on a Saturday. That also gave me a bit of riding time with the new lines to check how they work and get used to them.
It only...
I have the Zero Gravity double bubble windscreen. Completely happy with it. Eliminated the buffeting I was getting with the stock windscreen. I can't remember why I picked it up vs Puig. I think I got it because of price, since I am tall I wasn't sure if the double bubble wasn't going to work...
Wanted to share a bit of a tip on bleading brakes I stumbled on.
Over the weekend I decided to upgrade my brake lines to stainless steel. After watching some how to videos I saw that you can use a turkey baster to suck out the brake fluid out of the reservoir to save a bit of time and cut...
I've used my triple tree stand multiple times and haven't noticed the horn or horn bracket being an issue. Next time I use it though I'm going to check - maybe the horn bracket has been resting on the arm of the stand with a lot of weight and I never noticed. Thanks for the info.
Thought this would be a fun little thread - post what you picked up on Black Friday/Cyber Monday for your bike!
So far I only picked up a Vortex LED tail light. It can be one of my projects over the winter. I'm looking for a pair of Scorpion Covert Pro jeans but haven't found any deals...
I second the double bubble being a big improvement. Not sure if it just cleans up the air hitting me or helps knock some of it over me. I get much less buffeting and it feels more comfortable
I'm 6'3" though - not sure how it would be for someone shorter.
Hey Jake, wanted to say congrats on the new ride and welcome to the community! I'm new to the motorcycle world too - only been riding for 6 months. Great beginner bike, you'll really enjoy it once you get it running right. Also, working on it yourself isn't too hard in most cases.
Enjoy...
You may want to check the owners toolkit before you go out and buy one. There are a number of allens in there, don't remember if that's one but worth a shot.
