Hello back from another UK Divvie owner.
I have to say those rearsets look good. My big whinge about the XJ6 is that the pegs are too far forward and the bars too high and wide. I'm not expecting a GSXR riding position (I've got one of those!) but looking for something closer to my Hornet...
It takes two to tangle.
Accident stats show the most common accidents in urban environments are 'right of way violations' where the car driver is at fault...
But a skilled rider can see the situation developing and do something about it, not simply ride into a collision.
Nice find, thanks.
I'm a UK-based motorcycle instructor and I hadn't actually seen this report before even though it's a study done in the UK!
I'll be interested to read the full review if I can find it!
The cut off on the headlamp dip beam is on the other side. ;)
Am I correct in thinking some US states require running lights built into the front turn lights? If so, that's not a feature on EU spec models, they are just turn indicators, pure and simple.
Don't worry, everything else is the...
Top Man!
I'll have a read through that and see if it could be done, it looks possible after a cursory scan.
With Yamaha sales as dire as they are in the UK at the moment (they put their prices up around 20% across the board at the beginning of 09 and sales have taken a corresponding...
I thought that might be the case... I did find some pics of a US model with the seat off and it did look very different under the seat. Much tidier, the UK model looks very unfinished under there.
One other suggestion - the gear shift linkage is assembled nearly dry (at least it was on my XJ6). Try removing the linkage and greasing the pivot points. I had this problem 20 years ago with an FZ750 which was 'notorious' with the press for having a clunky gearchange. A bit of grease and both...
Do you mean the road known as the 'Cat and Fiddle' in the UK?
It's a nice enough road, over the top of the Pennines, but it's busy most of the day, and because of the number of riders (and drivers) who crash, there's now a blanket 50mph speed limit on it, with (IIRC) average speed cameras...
