I have the Joe Rocket Hammerhead tank bag, it's the prefect size for an FZ6R tank. I used it on a 6 day, 4049km trip last June and it kept my sunglasses, a couple of monster energy drinks, a few bars, keys, point-and-shoot camera, wallet, GPS, phone, USB wall charger and charging cords. It has a...
So what does everyone have their rear spring preload set to?
I'm 6'2, 200lbs and I have it set to 4. I set it to 3 for a couple of days and found it really soft, 4 is OK but alittle stiff on the bumps. I might change it back to 3 sometime soon and try that for a couple of weeks.
Anyone else?
I agree, lol. Actually I passed a friend on mine on his 2010 Vmax and he didn't hear me until I was in front of him. That had me worried, that people can't hear me passing them, which is why I'm doing the mod.
I see that Cherry Bomb has exhaust tips, I wonder how loud they are? :-)
Cheers.
I searched and found alot of talk about the mod itself, but no talk about the different tips you can buy and which ones give a deeper tone than others.
Good idea Jspansel, I'll go to a shop and see which ones look good rather than looking on the internet.
Thanks.
OK, so spring is almost here and I'm gonna do the exhaust mod. I need to get an automotive exhaust tip.
I looked around and found tons of tips, MBRP, Magaflow, FlowMaster, SLP, etc. Is one better than the other, do the exhaust tips make a different sound, or are they all the same? I assume...
I've driven in 0 degree (i.e. 30F) weather and above. Some people say they never drive below 5 degrees (i.e. 40F), others say 10 degrees (i.e. 50F).
I'd like to know what's the magic number? Tires do not become safe below what temperature? Above that number and you're fine.
Cheers.
Ya, there's red loc-tite on it already (from the factory) which is why it's really hard to get off. When you say 'lock the nut' what do you mean?
Cheers.
I tried and tried and I can't get the damn nut off. I had the wife hold the front and rear brakes and I still couldn't get it off. I'm going to drop over to my friend's house this week and see if his impact wrench can get it off.
Like I said in my original post, ...headache and confusion.
Ya, there's a few videos out there with that mod. I think I'll be doing that as soon as my warranty is over. Sounds close to the TBR exhaust and only costs an automotive muffler tip.
Here's another video...

Just found on this site the torque setting for the front sprocket:
- front sprocket 61 ft lbs
Very cool! Time to grab the iPod and a couple of beers and head out to the garage.
OK, so I just got my 15 tooth sprocket and I'm going to head out in the garage soon, I never did a sprocket change before and I know it's suppose to be easy, but what's involved or is it just straight forward? Also, what's the torque setting to tighten it?
Sometimes I get into these mods...
Ya, to me it looks like it was tipped over on the right side. You can tell by the marks under the right turn signal light. As for the the scratches, you might be able to buff them out.
Good price though, cosmetic damage is not a big deal, ...mechanical, now that's a different story.
Cheers.
Thanks mjesenovec, I'll check into them.
I did some looking around in other forums and found some useful info. Take it for what it's worth, but it seems to be from a reliable lighting expert named Daniel Stern. Here's the list in order of choice (#1 being the best choice):
1) Philips...
