How is the blue? I couldnt figure out what was with the orange and how it looked great in pictures but in person its Meh... :D
 
Well I must appologize. I had surgery earlier this week. I figured I'd bounce back, get my wheel stripes on and take a photo shoot. Honestly, I can't leave the couch and the 4 hours between pain meds are the longest four hours of my day.

So with the said, I'll post up the pics I took when I finished the paint, and I'll get you better pics with matching wheel stripes when I can.

The finish on the blue is nicer than I thought. This is a pearl color I mixed. They recommend mixing half matte clear and have gloss, but I didn't want to buy two gallons at $60+ a pop, so I got only matte. It still shines like crazy, can't imagine how nice it would have been with 50/50. HIGHLY recommend you dippers out there using a pearl next time around.

Anyway, I promise you finished pictures as soon as I am able. For now....









And this one was around 8pm with the summer sun going down, STILL shines. So nice!
 
I liked the orange better. The blue reminds me of the Ninja 650 Plasma Blue. Maybe it just needs another color to break up the blue. Hope recovery is going well. What did you have surgery on? I had 2 surgeries back in January and February and am still not 100% recovered. Hope you recover soon before riding season is over.
 
Congrats! !! You finally choose a color that will add power to the bike ;)

They had to break my nose to fix a deviated septum, then shave down bone spurs from old breaks. Then they burned my sinuses. Basically I can't breathe out of my nose when I lay down, but I have sleep apnea and can't use my mask. Hopefully this fixes my breathing so I can start sleeping. Doc says a month, two tops til I can put my helmet back on.

Fall is my favorite riding season though. Hasn't even started yet, plenty of time :)

I agree, I like fall riding except for slippery leaves.

So I finished my bike tonight, topped it off with some reflective wheel stripes from Taylor33 on amazon.com. Looking at the product I held my reservations and was pleasantly surprised. In some pics they appear white, but they look blue in person. They are actually a lot more eye catching in person, much like this video when they have light on them:

If I had a do-over, I would go with tapeworks.com since they have a tool to put the tape on easy, and I'll tell you mine isn't perfect.....

but like I said, after looking around the net a little more, that other place has what looks like slightly brighter tape for a cheaper price. Still 9/10 satisfied though! MUCH better than the $10 tape.
 
Do you think you could post a write up/how to on the paint mixing and spraying? Also is this removable like the rattle can Plasti-dip?

I'm between things at work right now... I'll definitely post something up about how to dip. I think I have a video up, but it probably stinks. Would you rather a write up or video? I think a video might be easier.

And yeah, this is the exact same substance, but mixed and sprayed differently. Peels off the same way.
