Just one of those (good) days

I've been riding almost every day for the past 4yrs on my FZ6r and most days I have at least one "sh*t" moment when I either rev a bit too high/low when down shifting or my acceleration is a bit choppy, but yesterday I was just NAILING IT! The acceleration, up shift, down shift, braking, the lean on every corner... Everything was spot-on. It was just one of those days when everything is perfect and I didn't want to stop riding.

Do you guys ever have those days? If so, how often would you say you get them? Or is there any of you that have those days every day?

i dont concentrate so much on how perfect my technique is but there are lots of days when i am riding and say man i really do not want to go back home

Everyday is paradise in Arizona... With an average of 350 days of sunshine, yearly; I enjoy my daily commute, each and every day!!

As long as I don't get hit by some cager on the way to and from work, I consider that day to be a perfect one on the bike.

If my shifts are relatively smooth and at an average RPM, I consider the ride quite enjoyable.

Perfection is in the eyes of the beholder...

I defiantly know what you mean! I would say once a month or so ill get one of those days where you surprise yourself and its not just you its a combination traffic flow and lights along with your execution lol its an amazing feeling that's for sure

AZ is moto-rider heaven for sure!

How does the FZ6r compare and what would you say it is about the GSXR that helps you have "those days" more often? (besides the obvious power and riding position differences)

oh dont listen to him, he is just trying to justify the cash he laid out for the gixr LOL kidding. great bikes but i just cant deal with being hunched over all the time. Too bad they dont make an upright version. The gladius is close but naked.

Totally different bikes. The GSXR shifts better, handles better, feels much lighter, is a ton faster, requires less effort to get it to go where you want. Overall it's just a better package, but it's also a lot more money (new) than the FZ6R, and is purpose built. I loved the FZ6R, but I love the GSXR that much more.

I paid less for the Gixxer than I did the FZ6R... :catfight:

Most of my lights were green, traffic was unusually thin, no cops in sight, and my random playlist kept giving me THE BEST music. That, and Chipotle is doing buy one get one free for teachers today, so I have dinner and breakfast in my backpack

More often than not mine are more morning vs. afternoon - going to work is wonderful, and I usually hit that one exit ramp juuuuuussst right and come out of it with a huge grin and heart thumbing!

... And then going home a little tired after work I have to concentrate on something even as simple as shifting....

The road is cool in the morning and evening here now, though I do try to get the heat in the tyres, its not working with all the red lights

If the chain is clean and the pressures adjusted spot on, and I'm riding on a twisty road in the sunny afternoon, then I can feel it and the rear tyre might look funny afterwards too.

but unless you're taking her to the track, you're not using half the power she was built for!

and SS is not greater than another bike, it is definitely purpose built... Yes, there are more options coming now that may be better fit/finish than the FZ6R... but SS isn't the be all end all solution for everyone. I know I have zero interest in buying a SS... heck, I've even been thinking of picking up a little 250 for commuting just because they are light and nimble and get great fuel economy, though I would still have to have my luggage.

Pretty much goes for any bike that you're not dragging knee on the street with, which IMO is only meant for the track anyway.

Totally agree, but from bike to bike the difference in fit and finish, or even the feel of different operations like shifting, or turn in feel so different.

If I compare the FZ6R and GSXR top to bottom, FZ6R would have a few things on it, but all performance and operational points would be all on the side of the GSXR. FZ6R has the comfort.

That's what I love about my ST3. It combines the comfy upright riding style and usable power of the 6R with the handling, braking, fit, finish, and acceleration of a supersport. Heck, it has better acceleration than most supersports. The only thing the other bikes have are fairings, and who needs them? :thumbup:
