Man, I wish the guy who did this bike was a forum member. I came across this while looking for bikes for my wife:

2009 Yamaha FZ6R Streetfighter

R6 forks and brakes, clip ons, and R1 rearsets! Holy moly that's a lot of work. Looks great though. I'm not sure about those headlights though.

Edit: Thanks Rookie for pointing out that the guy who did this is a forum member (Vitrox) and has a whole thread about the build of this very bike. Small world.

IMO it needs something on the forks, but that seems like a lot of money for a wrecked rebuilt bike even with all the work that has gone into it.

I think those headlights are mountain bike headlights. They look just like a product I used to sell when I sold high end bicycles and accessories.

Yup. That's exactly what they are. Not street legal, but depending on the state they may get through.

I'd go with the headlight idea and mount a couple of projectors in there in a flyscreen, cover those flat sheet metal areas in between the tank and fork with some black plastics and put on a Marthy exhaust, Dynojet, Racetech rear spring and valve and some good sticky treads.

And shipping from Alaska to the west coast is really cheap, since most of the cargo goes up they have a lot of empty containers to ship back. You can negotiate a pretty cheap rate for the return trip with Lynden or any of the major marine transport companies.

i was looking at a car on ebay once and it was $450 to ship from CA to VT thats not bad at all for 3000lbs im sure a bike is more like $250! my 100lb wheeler motor was 120$

1) Kudos to the seller for the honesty in what you're buying.
2) Would look cool with a single round headlight, Monster style.
3) No way it's worth that much. Maybe half that with the reconstruct title. You gotta understand you never get your money back out of a labor of love vehicle project like that.

I agree. 2K max! There another 2-3K to put on this bike to make it top notch. No exhaust, no pcv... A crash bike with block off plate only ($40.00), R6 front end (used ?$$$). I can tell it was done on a low budget for a quick $$$.

Marthy, see the link Rookie posted and in that thread there is a link to the member's thread on the bike build where he details what he's done and how much it cost him. Just the front end cost around $1000 if I remember correctly.

It doesn't matter how much money you put into it it still is only worth what it is or what someone is willing to pay.

Perhaps, but mating a R6 front end on a binned 6R may or may not even be a good idea. You can't just approach it as "R6 gooder and sportier, parts make 6R gooder and sportier too." Putting a different front end on changes the overall geometry of the bike. The frames and swingarms are not the same on the two bikes. Slapping a R6 set of forks and triple, etc on the 6R doesn't mean it will work well together.

This sort of bike is great for the guy building it if he loves to fiddle and tweak and fancies himself a closet motoGP mechanic, but to a potential buyer such Frankenstein projects should really be avoided entirely unless the builder really is a well known pro builder who knows exactly what he's doing and has tested the engineering principles involved in THAT build.

The honest truth is, fun or not this is still a salvaged parts bike, and really should be priced as such.
