Hi guys. I just received my Joe Rocket Phoenix 5.0 based on you guys recommendations and I love it! I'm much more willing to wear it 100% of the time since it fits much better than my Tourmaster Intake, and is much more breathable.

So I'm trying to break my next bad habit of not wearing gloves, because I honestly can't stand the gloves I have now. I can't even find them online, they're a cheap "Airmaster" brand I found at a local cycle shop. They don't fit well, they make my hand hot and sweaty, and they don't help any against the vibration of the bike. I also have a set of leather / cashmere gloves I've used in the winter, although they're not riding gloves, and offer minimal protection.

I didn't find any *recent* threads specifically on gloves, so I thought I'd ask - what's your favorite gloves or your recommendations? Maybe some that you didn't like and you never use?

I've never really liked gloves, I find that I fumble controls like the turn signals, horn, etc, probably because I don't have a good set of gloves.

Thanks for any recommendations!

Now that you have a jacket you like to wear try to shoot for a full gauntlet glove. I got mine from FZ6RBlack, for like 60 bucks I believe. They were almost 200$ retail :thumbup: If you can't get a great new glove. Check around the r6 forums and the other 600cc bike forums for some great deals. For example:

Oh my favorite and only gloves right now, or ever, are the twist of fate race gloves :D

These are the new versions of what Robert(99Venguer) and I have.

Cortech-DX-2-Gloves

Trust me as a southerner these work great in hot weather!

Sweet, that's what I like to here :) I don't people ever truly understand the humidity down here sometimes unless they've been here...I've met people from TX / AZ that say they'd rather have their 110 degree weather over our 100 degree weather with 90% humidity...

i tried these on at the store and they were the only ones that didnt cut off my circulation to my fingers after 10 minutes of riding. the Icon Twenty-Niner Short Gloves work well for humid michigan days. i have over 3k miles with these gloves and i can say they are good in cooler weather, around 40-50 and warmer weather up to 80-85. depending on the sun and the humidity these gloves will work alright for warm summer rides however they provide good protection in the palms and knuckle area so the ventilation is reduced.

Am I just a little noobish in that some of these gloves seem like a bit too much for short city commutes? Do most of you guys wear thick leather full gauntlets everywhere you go?

It certainly makes sense if you're on the track, and I'd be in a full leather suit too if I ever step foot on a track, but I'm leaning more towards something like the Cortech gloves since 90% of the time I'm just 1 mile to and from work, for convenience and comfort. Anybody agree/disagree?

just picked these up a month ago and am loving them. only problem is everywhere i go, everyone and their grandma wants to try them on. (and, i'm a minor germ-o-phobe, so that doesn't help.) >_<

KNOX Handroid Hand Armour White from SportbikeTrackGear.com

wow those look like terminator gloves  notice Kangaroo leather palm - I bet they feel amazing. some might not know, when you see the racers leathers, then go buy the replica, alpinestars for example, you get cow leather while they get Kangaroo, which is much lighter yet stronger.

I have a pair of light duty alpinestars deerskin, which is close to Kangaroo, I use for cruising around local, then a heavier duty/thicker for longer day mountain runs

you'll certainly pay more for non cow hide gloves, but once you feel em they're well worth the $

can't find my light duty deer anymore, must be an old model no longer made. if buying again I'd try these goat as I have a full 2 piece AGV suit that's goat and very comfy while bit lighter than cow

I use Rev'it gloves in kangaroo, 100F+ and they don't get hot, full gauntlets - I can't even wear my shorty cowhide gloves, way too hot
