Well I'm doing it (Plasti-Dip forks)

This is what my bike has been going thru the past few weeks

Chain off
Back wheel off (Replaced tire)
front wheel off (Replaced tire)
brake lines bled dry
brake lines removed
forks removed(way easier than it should be)
Forks(outer tube) plasti-dipped

Still to come new lines,brakes,sprockets/chain

Nice! Always cool to see a bike stripped down.

The thing that makes me the most nervous is getting the rear tire lined back up perfect. and also getting the lines on right. its all actually really easy...

and to make it even better im working in an unheated garage in a MN "winter" i know its been "warm" up here but working in a garage where the temp is rarely over 35 is not so much fun

I hear ya.. Unfortunately my bike is somewhat backed into a corner right now with all of our stuff yet to be unpacked after the move. It is a 3 car insulated garage but DANG, still gets COLD in there! I want to get a heater in there but dont know if I want to go for the expense of a nat. gas unit or just buy a large space heater.

I bought a small space heater (Dumba$$) tiny little thing couldn't heat up a outhouse...
o well its supposed to be in the 50's next week so i'll get everything wrapped up

... So does this mean it's a bad idea? It looks great on the forks and I see some people have painted the handlebar black before but I think the plasti dip would look better IMO. Any thoughts? Rook?

I honestly don't know. I know it would look better then paint but not sure how well the stuff would hold up when you have to tighten the bars/leavers etc... Not sure if the plasti-dip will "push" up or wrinkle.

I'd say the best bet would be to mark the edges of the exposed bar with something like a grease pencil then remove the bars, then tapping off the area where your bars clamp in and covering the grips and controls with plastic and tape.
