Upgrade to 1 litter bike

I tried to look at amirw's initial statement...he doesn't really say why he wanted more HPs. His follow up said that he is against the mods because of safety and cost. I will agree with the cost. I've always wondered why Civic owners dumps thousands of dollars in their cars, when they can just buy a better car to begin with - same with our bikes, for 5-10 HPs, it's not worth it (for me). If you can get more, it may be worth it if you like working on bikes and have the time to do it.

Now about the liter bike...I have to say that if you haven't been on the track with our bike, then you're really missing what our bikes can do. Rarely did I get to 4th gear before I had to downshift. Sure torque is lacking, but you can fix that with a sprocket mod. Not once did I get HP envy. I was able to pass CBR600s and a couple of ZX6Rs. I could've done better if the front suspension didn't dive too much. Point is, the track just enforced it more for me that it's the rider not the bike. Once I got back on the street, I was able to push my riding abilities more, but still not to the bike's full potential - just because of the added hazards in the street. I say that the liter bike has it's use. For me though, I don't have humongous luggage, and I'm only a buck 50 so 1000cc is just way too much. If anything, I'd more than likely get a true 600cc sportbike and get the upgrade on HPs and also suspension.

Sometimes I wish I would've got the 250 dual-sport to ride through some dirt.

there is this "speed hump" by my house, its like a speeb bump but its about 4' wide and maybe 8"-12" tall in the center, its HUGE..

Every time I could ride my bicycle over it I would jump it and get some decent air.. Now every time I take the FZ6R over it I think ok, hit the gas and hold on then I chicken out because I will probably fully compressed the front suspension and break something haha!

That being said, part of me wishes I had a dual sport just do hit the urban areas :) and then the tails as well lol..

Just read through the rest of the thread and I dont think the FZ6R lacks power at all.. There are some guys I ride with no a regular basis and they go:
R6
R1
GSXR 600
GSXR 750
FZ6

Now in the twistys I could keep up with all off them and even pass if I wanted to because we have so much low end TQ.

But on the straights, yeah I do get killed, but I catch right back up to them when the twistys start again.. I feel no need for any more power, the only reason I would want more power at all would be to lower my R's on the freeway..
