it looks great.... cant wait to put it on..... mine was $65.... also got a k&n air filter... already put it on tonight..... next up is frame sliders and flush mount front signals....
Looks great. I'm planning on getting one for mine. Make sure you get a red reflector on that plate. Heard a lot of guys who've been written fit-it tickets for that. Just an easy reason for the cops to pull you over.

I was asking jonkerr because he said Make sure you get a red reflector on it......I didnt know it was the law???????
From what I've been told it is. Here's a pic of mine with the two little red dot reflectors. You can get them from most motorcycle shops. A lot of them have them in a little bowl at the register for about a buck.

Well, the way I understand it is the issue is really about the fender itself - though the reflectors are part of the issue as well. The law states you have to have a fender (at least in CA) - so even if you add the reflectors (Federal law, I believe, states you have to have 2 red reflectors on both sides of the bike [one on the front fork left and right, one on the back fender left and right and on on the back of the bike), you are still breaking the law by using the FE kit.
The good news is - that unless you are doing something to really tick off the cops, they typically don't write you up for just the FE/reflectors - though sh*t can and does happen...

I was on a local discussion forum a friend of mine owns and one of the members is a Highway Patrol officer. She calls herself the liaison between the the sport bikers and the cops being she's both. One thing she mentioned is that by the letter of the law, you're not actually allowed to change anything on the bike from the factory regarding reflectors, plate location, or anything having to do with the lights. However, cops would be wasting even more time than they do now messing with motorcycle riders if they nailed every bike out there that's changed something. She's the one who said that the things that are important are to have the plate equal with or extended beyond the rear axle, (No tucking it up on the battery box or angling it backward so it can't be read easily) have a tag light on, turn signals 9" apart, and one or more reflectors on the plate. Those are the things in California that will get you pulled over and ticketed if you're lacking them. And the red reflectors is just an easy one for them to get you with. But even then, if you're not doing anything wrong and not driving like an ass, you probably won't be bothered even if you're missing one of those.

ok WTF....I have my fe installed and went over a speed bump and it bottomed out. bent the license plate.... i have my shock set at 4 and i'm only 190lbs......anyone else had this happen?????

I have the Competition Werkes Fender Elim and I had the exact same thing happen!!! Now I'm only 175lb and was shocked the rear suspensions would travel THAT much to have the tire bend the plate. I'm damn glad it didn't cut the tire.
What I did is stiffen up the suspension to "5". Feels better in the twisties anyways, but kinda hard over rough roads. I also bent the plate upwards to give it a couple more inches clearance. Who cares if it's harder to read the plate now :thumbup:

I can only find the lights with ammber lenses. Where did you get the clear lenses?
