Stupid question of the day

Did you get the bike new? Do you do mostly highway riding? My wife's Rebel needed new front pads after 4K miles but almost all of that was around town.

Yep, brand new. The front pads are down 50% max. But I use the rear (more than I tough) to slow down. (F+R)

There's plenty of pads left, I just wanted new one and different compound. Also as the pads wear down the piston in the caliper are more out. Make your brake feel more spongy a bit since the volume behind the piston is larger.

SSteel line are on the list. But I want my wife to learn on the 6R when I get a FZ1??? So I rather leave the stock line on for now.
 
Man I missed this one, I thought it was going to be like; "Why are clouds puffy?" kind of thing, not how many brake pads for the front of a FZ6R.

I've got braided SS lines on my 6R and my wife is learning on it just fine. It was one of the first mods I did to her (the bike, not my wife). I'd prefer her to learn on a bike that has nice firm brakes as opposed to the mushy feeling the stock brakes have. They don't bite overly hard, but have a nice predictable grip and stop. Much more confidence inspiring feel.

Related Brake Question

Don't mean to hijack, but since we're on the brake conversation here, I figured I'd ask if anyone's got a squeaky front brake? It's not a big deal, just a light squeak as I approach my stopping point when I use my front brake, but the bike is only 5 months old, so I'm just wondering if I got something in there that's causing that, or what?:confused:
 
Big update. Pads 3/3 are in!!! Changing them on lunch brake...
