Yeah, 2 sets required for the front.
31 000 miles or so. My rear are getting there since I use it a lot (more than i though) just to slow down. The front still have plenty of meat on them, I just wanted to change for EBC Double-H Sintered pads. I need more bite!
I'm dreading my next change... as I think it will be getting close to time for rotors too.... I will scrutinize them with the calipers... as those suckers are not cheap...

Then I start thinking about my pads I order and might be a good thing to flush and bleed the rear for the first time. Then I was WTF??? Since the front and rear were the same price... I bet I had to order 2 sets for the front!
Ah well, if this is as bad as my day goes... LOL extra $10.00 shipping does sucks!

No but seriously, so the box only comes with two pads? If I order brake pads for my car then the box comes with four pads total, 2 for the left and 2 for the right. For a bike there is only one rotor so wouldn't the front just need two pads?

You have TWO rotors for the front tire and ONE on the rear. So need 3 sets of pads.This is up there with my "How to take spare seat off" question

"Sold as pair, I.E. if your bike has two calipers then order two"
just have to read the fine details... some might have both, some might have have this disclaimer... a shop will def. order you two sets, or at least remind you if they are worth anything

Martin, if you're looking for more bite, have you upgraded the master cylinder or lines yet? I got stainless lines on my last bike (for less than oem rubber replacements) that did an excellent job. I've also heard that swapping out the front brake cylinder is a great upgrade for our bikes.
Either way, let us know how those EBCs feel!

I didn't know that. I would have made the same mistake.
If you buy brake pads for you car... the front "SET" comes with all the pads you need. 4
