Rider Down

Very glad to hear you're still with us, bro.

I'm also curious to know what gear you were wearing, that kept you from getting whittled down to the bone on an almost 1000 ft slide...

I do know those 18-wheeler semis have a large number of blind spots (I also hear the horror stories of so many drivers nodding off). Still doesn't forgive a hit-and-run... assuming he even knew he hit you (slamming on his brakes, I imagine, validates that he did).

Quick recovery to you...

The bike hit the top of the front fairing and handle bars then hit the rear seat laid on the right side and slid around 6 to 8 ft and stopped. I know I didn't have on complete riding gear but I had a full face Bell Revolver helmet, Mechanix gloves, a textile like jacket, jeans and Ariat boots. I was traveling between 65 to 70 mph. Just for the record I don't want people to think I'm exaggerating on the details I have a copy of the highway patrol report. I may just be a lil paranoid b/c this is a lil hard to believe and not here to see.

I really dont think its necessary to post/scan the report dude. You are alive to tell what happened and I dont think anyone doubts what your saying. Just look after yourself, your the priority, take your time to heal and you will be back out on a bike when your ready for it :D

Amazing that you survived this. Good luck with your recovery bud and hit and run part really sucks. He probably has previous record for reckless driving, can't imagine a good driver knowingly running. Heal quick!
