Well it only took 2 months but I dropped it today at low speed 15 ish. I'm fine bike is all cosmetic, right side is a mess fairing is all scratched up, bar end is cooked. Turn signal is scratched to hell and my ego is totaled. Other than that I'm great. I will post pics when I can look at it again.

I know its been said over and over in other threads and will be here but.... I am glad you are ok and it is just the bike that is messed up. Don't let it total your ego everyone has wrecked or will wreck its just the nature of the beast

AGREED!!!
Glad it was at a relatively slow speed for you and that you are ok!!
Just think about what happened so you can identify the cause so that you can learn from this and not have it happen again, especially at higher speeds!

On another note, dont let this hurt your ego. As stated most everyone will go down at some point.. Good job on making it 2 months. I think statistics are that new riders are most prone within the first 6 months.

Heck.... I only made it to about 77 miles!

This comment is very true. I first put a bike down while going around a corner at night. The street lamp had a yellowish light .and I did not see the sand on the pavement. It happens to everyone at some point. It sucks I know but be cool with it.

i just wrecked mine too. saturday night bout 10:30pm. missed my turn, then straightened out a corner. sounds like your experience, bike is cosmetic and i got bruises. thank goodness for gear is all i got to say! glad you and i are both ok and we will be back on two wheels in no time!!

forgot to add that it was on an unfamiliar road! <--should have been more careful. gear up!

Don't let it get to you. I bought a 2005 ninja 500EX brand new and it was my first time on a sport bike. I dropped it within 5 minutes when I tried to turn sharper than the bike was capable of in a parking lot and went off into some soft dirt. Down she went and scuffed up the mirror, bar end, signal, and fairing. Not a good start. But that's why I bought a cheap bike for my first bike. I knew as a noob I'd have some growing pains. I ended up putting 13K miles on that bike and while that was my first drop, it certainly wasn't my last.

I dropped that Ninja myself one other time (forgot to put kickstand down in a parking lot), and once when some a-hole pushed it over at my condo parking lot. That pissed me off as it messed up my upper and lower fairing and split my radiator.

I've had three bikes now, and dropped them all, ha ha. I guess I'm a slow learner, although I've never dropped them the same way twice, so I do learn from my mistakes. Sliders have paid for themselves on my 6R and ST3. If you don't have some, get some.

OP, don't worry about it... even though your ego is a bit bruised, you'll get over it soon. It happens even to the best riders.... Even to yours truly.
Just gotta brush it off and learn from the experience. Look at it this way, at least it wasn't dropped at 55mph and you got hurt. It could always be worse my friend.

If you ever do drop, and you are fine afterwards, it's never a bad thing. It's a lesson learned, usually.
