I completely see the biker's side of this.

That car was wanting to get over, biker wasn't sure if the car saw him. I would have slowed down too..

Cop plainly stated that you don't slam on the brakes when some one is "right behind you". The cop was definitely too close and not paying attention.

So stupid..

Ask for the supervisor! I was in a similar situation but in a work box truck.

They had closed a lane to do construction an the construction cones cam into my lane. The officer flagged me around, I stopped and asked him If I was going to clear the low branch of the tree. He said yes just go...and the tree ripped a hole in the side of the work box truck. It ended up being equal fault on me for not getting out and checking the clearance and the cop for directing me into an obsticle.

The first thing the detail officer did was call for the supervisor after we cleared enought room for traffic to continue.

PISSED ME OFF! I got cops in my family and there's no way any of them would pull this shit!

i'm amazed at how the rider kept his cool. the cop basically came out swinging, didn't even ask if the guy was ok, and the rider never once got aggressive. props to him for keeping his cool when the cop was clearly being unprofessional. i started to get worked up and all i was doing was watching the video! haha. my best friend is a cop and i have all the respect in the world for them but that particular officer was out of line. maybe he was just having a real bad day. let's hope that's all it was.

Cop was in complete fault the motorcyclist did absolutely nothing wrong there is now law that states you can not stop short...if he had done it intentianly then I could get it but any way it's the officer or other driver at fault for following to closely bottom line and how dare he threaten a law abiding citizen I'd say to ahead and right that ticket I'm sure they will see both videos and see how you rear ended me with no sirens or lights on before hand.... The rider did a good job keeping cool but that sherif was abusing his power and most likely breaking the oath her swore to uphold the law.

eff that cop. I would take his ass to court. He rear ended the bike, plain and simple. Cop was an absolute douchbag, he was crapping in his pants. Doesnt matter how fast someone hits brakes, if you rearend them, your at fault, period. Guy in front of bike had blinker on, and was gedtting over, and yes, bike stopped, but cop should have stopped before hitting him.

I would love this to happen to me, ol piss face cop woulda lost his job, done.

What a douche of a cop! I'd not only take him to court, but I'd try to get him suspended at the very least. I'm not sure if every state follows this statute, but in PA if you get rearended it will be the fault of the person hitting you. Doesn't matter if your brake lights were out or you slowed too fast. I've seen different permutations of this same type situation and the cop would definitely lose especially because it was taped.

in PA if you get rearended it will be the fault of the person hitting you.

Same in Maryland. Even if someone slammed on their brakes in the middle of 65mph highway traffic, if YOU hit them, YOU are at fault.
