rack for top box

OOPS. This rack is available in Europe and Canada for the FZ6R. It fits the Yamaha/Givi topboxes. They have it listed in Canada for $199.00 (Canadian). Part number is 20S-W0736-00-00. Just wondered if anyone has ever ordered Yamaha parts out of the country and if there are any precautions.

Ok...don't know if anyone is following this... I ordered the top box rack from a Yamaha dealer in Vancouver, BC. I was told it would take one to two weeks because it's back ordered. Then ground shipping maybe another week. So I will post when it gets here. I hope it does not screw up the looks of the bike too much, I need some storage on this bike at times. Gary

Sweet, be sure to post pictures when you it mounted.

Here is what mine looks like with the top case...

Twisted Throttle sells both the mount and the Givi case so you can get an idea of what the items cost there. I think it is worth the cost. In the V46 case that I have, I can fit my jacket and helmet in it...nice and secure. It is a truly great addition to the bike. I love not worrying about my jacket and helmet when I park the bike (and gloves for that matter).

Yeah, hard cases can get expensive pretty quickly. However, most people that are rocking them, love them.

k6gad is talking about the Yamaha accessories top case rack specifically, not the Givi rack.

I realize that, but they are essentially the same thing. Pricing is pretty much the same as well.

Yep....I already have a Yamaha top box that I used on my TMax. I liked the looks of the Yamaha rack better. I guess if you were going to add side cases as well it might be better to buy the Givi instead. I just need some space to take stuff to work and back occasionally. Gary

Update

Got my rack last Wed, took long enough! This ended up costing a lot more than I had planned, oh well. It comes painted in a lovely silver color, bummer! I guess the handle-bars are silver other than that.....So.... I went down to the local powercoater and had them do a "semi-gloss" black finish. Got it back yesterday...WOW..now that looks much better. Installed it this afternoon and it took about 30-40 minutes, easy peasy lemon squeezie! Took the old 44 liter top box I used on the T-Max and snap, bingo, now I have a ton of storage! Removed the silver colored insert from the top box, sanded it slightly and painted it a flat black.

I also need to post some photos...

In addition I mounted my Garmin GPS 205W. Used a Tech mount and purchased a special cable from GPS City. Wired it into the running light at the tail put the transformer box and fuse under the rear seat and fished the remaining cable between the frame and tank, a few zip ties and I am ready for some serious traveling!

When the paint dries and I get the insert back on the top box I will take some photos and get them up on this thread. This stuff took a while to get but I am happy with the results....suits me fine! ciao!

Finally some photos

Got the rack back from the powercoater! Here are the Pics!
Enjoy! Oh by the way.... went out for a 120+ mile ride today and I couldn't even tell it was back there.

Parts you will need to attach the top box

I got some extra parts when I ordered the top box for the T-Max. There were 4 rubber bumpers and the connector and two screws. If you don't have these forget attaching the Yamaha box without drilling. You can buy these parts from any Givi dealer as they sell replacements. If you buy the Yamaha box you should get them in the package.

I know this is an old thread, but those attachments mean that the yamaha box is really a Givi - so is it Monokey or Monolock??
