Hey everyone, I am a new to me FZ6R owner. Took the motorcycle course at a local Harley Davidson Dealer a little over a week ago and decided I wanted a bike. After consulting a good friend, I was steered away from a VFR800 and into something smaller. Since I have always loved Yamaha bikes, I chose the FZ6R. I found this one and brought her home Sunday, already put about 80 miles on her.

09 owned by a woman so, I need to change the graphics. Going to get a set from LG1Design. Also, it has Pink LEDs that I want to get rid of, the Fender Eliminator is fake Carbon Fiber so I will change it out, and it has different mirrors which I am ok with.

I wanted something to have fun with on nice weekends, to hold me over from my other project (the Mustang in the corner of the 2nd picture), and to be a change of pace from the Mustang once it is finished.

I have to say, the FZ6R is everything I had hoped it would be.

welcome

Welcome to the FZ6R world and let me congratulate you on NOT buying a Harley :)
Now you can enjoy biking without spending a billion dollars and annoying the crap out of every neighbor you have!

pink lights got to go that's for sure. Tons of posts here about signals. I use flush mounts in the front along with some small LED strips in the scoops for better vis. Havent changed out the back, yet, because they are not nearly as dumbo ear looking as they were in the front. Im curious to check out the graphics page you sent.

Welcome.. I'm not far Nashville and go out there to a buddys weekly.
If you see me flag me down say hi :)

I am down in Murfreesboro every now and then, I go to the Belk for the cruise in. I do not go as much right now since my car is undergoing some major work. Since I bought the bike, I might show up a little more often to hang out with my Mustang Club guys.

Ever go to the MCCM stuff?

Gotta say, I am loving this bike!

This Saturday, I plan on taking about a 100 mile ride. So far I have removed the Graphics from the Fairings, I also plan on taking the bike to have the Tank Graphics removed. I guess that means new paint and clearcoat. I am going to have them touch up a few scratches that were on the bike when I bought it. There is a scratch on the front fender and some scuffs on the fairings, if I cannot buff the fairing scratches myself.

So far I have bought a Fulmer Andrenalin II Textile Jacket, Fulmer Sportsman Gloves, and an AFX FX90 Dare (white/black) Helmet. I ordered a second helmet (same one) that way I have one with a clear visor and the other I bought a Silver Mirror Visor for, depending on when I will be riding. I called Motorcyclegear.com yesterday and ordered the Scorpion Ventech Jacket.

For the bike I ordered a Driven 17T Front Sprocket, K&N Air Filter, and 05-08 ZX6 Mirrors. I am trying to decide between the Arrow and TBR Exhaust in the future (probably spring) along with a PCV. I bought a Garmin off a member here. I plan on a Cortech Seat Bag and a Puig Racing Smoked Windscreen. I also will end up doing a Retrofit Kit with a Smoked Headlight Assembly.

Possibly in the spring I will order a riding suit, once I have more experience and am ready to push the bike a bit. For now, I am just getting my feet wet in the kiddie pool.

Hey, welcome to the forum. I'm also from Nashville and own a 2009 white fz6r. Maybe we can meet up and ride sometime. I also suggest if you use facebook to join NAMR (Nashville Area Motorcycle Riders). Huge group of riders from the Nashville and surrounding area.
