My journey to a blacked out FZ6R is becoming boring...

Should I go with this scheme?

Perhaps you can have them powdercoated? Will last longer than paint.

Powdercoating is a long process, that with where I live I would be driving 4 hours just to drop the wheels off.

I've been toying with what I want to do with my Raven 6R. This is what I'm leaning towards - the black, red and white Team Yamaha stripe with a thin white outline laid on like this Roaring Toyz custom FZ6R has it.

Yes Chucker I completely agree. However black/yellow looks good to IMHO just like the old Kenny Roberts bikes. Hint:: If by chance you are to young to know ,or I am to old to remember,Google Kenny Roberts.

I love the old Kenny Roberts graphics, but I think I like red better than yellow.

Might seem like a silly question but does painting your forks/calipers void warranty? Or void these pieces out of the warranty? Or anything of that sort?

Also, can anyone throw me a bone as to what kind of paint would be used for an application like this?
I have a blue 6R and think the red calipers would look great.

You can buy spray cans of High Heat Paint (Maybe BBQ paint?) in various colors at hardware stores that should work fine. Just make sure that your calipers are good and clean when you paint them.

G2 Caliper Paint is the way to go. 30$ but it holds up the best in my experience!

hey spoolin,

so you're gonna go with the 2011 fz6r style? I love that, if I had my choice I would have gotten that before I got the 2009. That being said, I have a blacked out 6r now, completely bare like yours, but I added the CF Tank Pad and Gas Cap Accents. It looks nice, I'm working more towards a full CF Accents all over the car. Because the FZ6R emblems are off, I like little hints of it (ie the tank pad) and will be getting the pro grips with them on it as well. I'll post pics later.

But a suggestion, I was thinking of getting red stripes on my wheels to match the rear spring that is so prominent. why don't you get the rear spring powdercoated that gold color? it will definitely make it pop. especially if you are into accenting all gold.

Fuschia is the proper term for that color.....add a little metalflake and it'll be purdy......

Here is a Telecaster I built from scratch in fuschia.
