Do you have a torque wrench? If you are changing stuff around on you bike you may want to invest in one. I'd have to look again to be sure but I THINK it was around 10-14 lbs of torque per the service manual. I'd have to check though so don't torque em without finding out 1st.How tight did you make the bolts when you screwed them back down? I tightened them as much as I could, but I want to make absolutely sure that I don't have a catastrophic failure on the freeway.
time to hit up harborfreight, buy a set of metric hex keys and a torque wrench. its good enought for this application.I don't have one, do they make them for hex keys?
I just tightened it as much as I want to live. However, I'm not a big guy. If I overtightened them, would it be a bad thing?
Not to much of a wrench head myself. My buddy knows a lot more than I do. He gave me the service manual though and IM PRETTY SURE it says the lower pinch bolt gets 22 ft lbs and the upper pinch bolt gets 14 ft lbs. if anyone else wants to check my numbers please do.I don't have one, do they make them for hex keys?
