I'm about 280, and I lowered the front end roughly 2.5". I haven't noticed any negative effects from it. Handles grrrreat!

One thing you guys can do is before you lower it look under the lower set of clamps and the dust marks should be a good indicator of how much adjustment you can do before it may bottom out.

i just installed the apex bars tonight and dropped my front 1-2 inches and ohh man i can feel it big time between the new aggressive bars and the drop i feel twice as confident in corners!!!
Can you post link to where u purchased your apex bars?

there s two bolts on the top and then about a foot down another set of two.

Thats the cheapest apex bars you can get for our bike im gonna put up a better post along with a install guide when i feel like it haha its kinda alot of work

Do you have to suspend the bike to adjust the forks or can u do it on the ground?? :don'tknow:
im sure you can do it on the ground when you loosen the forks the bike shouldn't just fall you have to kinda wiggle them up by prying the clamp open.... but i did it with it half suspended so that it stayed up straight wile i worked on it

ya my garage is in my basement so i used the houses center stud which is 7 beams thick to hoist about 200lbs of my bike up so the forks did not just go flying up. i had never done this before so i was playing it safe haha
I did it by myself on the ground not suspended. It was easy had no problems just slowly loosen the bolts and be ready to tighten when you reach your desired drop,
While your at it and have the tools out id recommend that you adjust the handlebars as well. If you lower them too much you may need to also adjust your controls. Also a cheap mod

How tight did you make the bolts when you screwed them back down? I tightened them as much as I could, but I want to make absolutely sure that I don't have a catastrophic failure on the freeway.

Do you have a torque wrench? If you are changing stuff around on you bike you may want to invest in one. I'd have to look again to be sure but I THINK it was around 10-14 lbs of torque per the service manual. I'd have to check though so don't torque em without finding out 1st.

I don't have one, do they make them for hex keys?
I just tightened it as much as I want to live. However, I'm not a big guy. If I overtightened them, would it be a bad thing?

time to hit up harborfreight, buy a set of metric hex keys and a torque wrench. its good enought for this application.

Not to much of a wrench head myself. My buddy knows a lot more than I do. He gave me the service manual though and IM PRETTY SURE it says the lower pinch bolt gets 22 ft lbs and the upper pinch bolt gets 14 ft lbs. if anyone else wants to check my numbers please do.
You can get a torque wrench and use pretty much any hex/socket whatever, and it's just like any wrench but puts the exact amount of torque on the bolt that you need.
