Liter bike upgrade?

liter bike are 1000cc bikes.

oh, i wonder why. thanks

out of the ones you listed, Tuono would be my choice.

considering the $ you plan on spending, like others have said, don't just limit to either a 600 or 1000, there are a tons of others 750, 800 etc.

hard for me to buy anything now without test riding 1st, if you can't test a new one, unless its the 1st year model, try to get on a used one to see if you really like it

this may help your ergo selection
Motorcycle Ergonomics

i agree about test riding, im not buying anything without test riding it from now on. Even if i have to wait for the motorcycle show to come back around. It was really nice out there with all the makes and models to try. Next year im out there at 9am signing up for every bike i can get my hands on.

I personally LOVE the look and wow factor of the Tuono but the forums I've read are scary. Plagued with problems and waiting for eternity on parts. I can't say much about the s1000r since I haven't seen one in person, but the reviews make it sound great and it looks awesome in red!

675r because I did test drive this on my friends bike, felt like hot knife through butter. Controls are spot on and my wrists aren't in a wierd angle like it is on the GSXR.

what problems with the Tuono?

forum member Hellgate has one

with you being in NYC, if NY doesn't have a good Aprilia dealer, you should be close to one

everything I've read on the ape forum reminds me of ducati when they were less popular with owners going out of their way to help each other for any support needed

Mainly hot restarts bolts screws turn signals coming off at high speeds. They make Tuono sound like a wild beast that would bust your balls to tame (literally).

1000cc(cubic centimeters) is equivalent to 1 liter.

well that makes sense lol. I didnt realize the internal is actually that small, at 1000 cc, thats about a half a bottle of coke. For some reason i thought 1000 cc would be bigger.

Thanks for the info

After u've had ur M1 license for over 3 years, it doesn't really matter if it's a 600 or a liter super sport. The insurance will be the same...

I think if you're curious about liter super sport bikes, then definitely go for it. 11k miles seat time on the 6R means u're more than ready. After about a year on my R1, I still can't really say that I love it over the R6 though. There are things that I madly love about both bikes. Straight line acceleration on the R1 is mind-blowingly fun. But flickability and precision on the R6 make canyons a blast.

If I had money growing out of my ears, I "might" consider the S1000RR. But, to me, it's slightly weird looking- with odd, asymmetrical headlights and non-matching fairings. And, at $18.5K otd, it costs almost as much as a Japanese compact car. Very few discounts on BMW's, and more mechanical issues & recalls for sure...

The R1 is not as polished a weapon, but it's hella lot cheaper and still a lotta fun. The cross plane sounds freaking amazing and it has headlights that stir your soul. Mine was under $12K otd, which is $6.5K less than the S1KRR. And, it comes with Yamaha reliability. For almost the same price as one S1KRR, I can own two Yamaha super sports. LOL. I'm honestly tempted to just keep both for as long as I can.

Definitely test ride all your prospects first if you can. And, follow your heart and your wallet.

Quoted the tuono v4 for $58/mo full coverage and the 675r is $67. I don't know if thats a fair comparison between naked and supersport.

Yea man! Thanks haha.

Are you sure about this? None of my friends have seen that, the liter bikes are always more, significantly.

Yep. In fact my R6 cost $70 less per year to insure than the R1.

Go figure. LOL.
