I was reminded the other day how strange is was to not see me on the forum as of late after a steady year of asking for advice, giving it and bugging everyone to join me in the chat room

Well life knocked me off my feet and left me unemployed and go figure, even with all the time I now had to myself, i just didnt find myself on the forum much.

Well FZ6R family, I want to fix that. I may not be looking over every thread every day, I miss you crazy guys!!

Also, a little thought of everyone. I wanted to get myself a little 'me' gift for my bday in august and at first I went blue tooth communication way. After getting and returning two different models, i think maybe ill just stick to parts and accessories .

SO, if its not known, I have the HID, TBR and power commander and all the blinkers taken care of.

My rear ones, purchased from an ex fz6r'r here, are kinda crappy, not that bright im told...so I was thinking of Int Tail light and then maybe sliders, mirrors (w/ signals)...unno or a new wind screen, maybe even a seat cowl?

On that note, some of you also know my urge to change the color of my bike..ID LOVE AN ORANGE BIKE but i missed the window with the sexy copper model (unless anyone wants to traaaade? lmao) so my other option is a custom paint or wrapped vinyl, which I also havent been able to find anything that I really really like.

Go make that bike one of a kind with the paint/vinyl if the price is right imo, with the amount of wishing for the orange I think that is what would make you the most giddy over it

Nice to have you back here neighbor! (Me and my wife just move...) Glad you have the job thing figure out and back on the saddle right in time for the Florida riding season. As far as screen, I really like the Puig Touring screen. Let me know if you want to look at it or give it a try...

By the end of the week I should have the Man Cave all organize.

Think about a chrome wrap? I saw one on "fast and loud" they said its made tough and surface temp stays 40degrees cooler in summer sun light.

Welcome back! I told Marthy I am going to be down in the Orlando Kissimmee area 21st-26th and probably making a day trip out towards the west Palms area. Let me know if y'all want to meet up for a drink or ride some evening. I am planning on trucking the bike down as long as the weather looks ok and I can get a new set of bars for the bike.

This winter I'm gonna paint my wife's bike and wheels white with a flat black stripe. I wanted to go ORANGE but I got shot down. However, I'm gonna use plasti-dip, so we can rip it back up if we want to change colors or something.

They have this thing called "Blaze Orange." It's mostly flat, but you can spray a "glossifier" on top to make it shinny like a clear coat.

I've been thinking about Blaze Orange-ing my FZ6R in the spring.... but the black and red looks too good! Still, this orange looks HOT!

This winter I'm gonna paint my wife's bike and wheels white with a flat black stripe. I wanted to go ORANGE but I got shot down. However, I'm gonna use plasti-dip, so we can rip it back up if we want to change colors or something.

Sorry, my wife doesn't have an FZ6R, we recently bought her a 2001 Ninja 250 (Navy Blue with orange stripes and 2 owners worth of damage from dropping it). But in my experience (lots of research, talking to people, and seeing in person what others have done with plasti-dip) it will not damage clearcoats and paint underneath. It does cure after a couple days in the sun and become tough, even tough enough to pressure wash, but work a corner up and it comes off like cling film.

Prep the surface with their cleaner, simple green/purple power, or use some water and dish soap to get off wax and grease. If I ever did my bike, I wouldn't worry about the graphics. Do enough light coats and try to hit the seam... but I probably won't do my bike unless I go down and get some rash.

I've painted a few scooters and my old honda ruckus, so I'm planning on probably 4 cans of white, but maybe buy 1 or two extra, 2 cans of black (though I might only need 1), and probably 4 cans of the glossifier. If you prefer, they sell gallons you can feed through an electric paint gun, but I'm trying to keep my paint job under $100.

EXACTLY! That's why it's become so popular with the import tuner crowd. Paint your car or wheels a super bright purple, and a week later go black or whatever.

Please post up what you do, I'll be sure to do the same when I dip the Ninja in about 2 months.

Plasti-dip black is about $6 a can at homedepot, and I can order a 6 pack of white with free shipping for about $45. Best price I've seen btw.

Ordering now, but gonna wait on glossifier. It's about to be our anniversary, and the wife hates how her car's black trim faded, so I'm gonna dip her trim and wiper arms. It'll be a nice test run before I do her bike.
