How to VIDEO: Power Commander and Block-Off plates

I've become a recent FZ6R owner but think I've been on the site for over a year now. This place is great for friendly and helpful info. I've also been slightly obsessed with my GoPro.... I saw a few how-to videos floating around youtube, but they just talk about what they did. So I made an actual step-by-step how to for installing the Power Commander 5 and block-off plates. (well, I did get a little lazy halfway through and leave out some small steps). Splicing together one now for my Marthy/Viper install. Hope you enjoy!

Great video! I was just talking to Martin about getting a Viper, PCV, and block off plate. Hopefully your post gets a sticky by admin so I can find it when I finally get my system. Can't wait to see the actual exhaust install too.

Really nice video. I had few things to do this morning and just finish watching it. That definitely need to be on a sticky! Great help. For the allen key, get a allen socket instead. So it can go on a regular 1/4" or 3/8" extension, much easier and you will need it later on anyway when it comes to spark plugs or valve adjustment.

Marthy, I'm splicing together the video right now for oem vs db killer vs open viper. Wow, no silencer is pretty loud. It sounds so much better though. Kinda rattled my brain around, but sounds amazing. Not sure if I want to run with or without the db killer!

Well I just installed my block off plates and pcv. I think I did it correctly. Then only thing that worries me is the speed sensor wire. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was suppose to tap into the pink speed sensor wire with a wire running from the pcv. But I didn't have 22 gauge so I used 18. I figured it would work. I installed marthys maps and all seems to run great. But it backfires pretty bad on deceleration. I know the block off plates were to cut down the popping but it seems it did nothing. All help is appreciated.

I used 16 or 18 cause that's what scrap wire I had lying around. Some people on here, myself included, still pop on decel. I like a little bit personally.

Could it be a different pink wire? I remember tracing it up from down by the footpegs where Marthy said it was. Any other reason to keep popping?

I used the same wire as you did in the video you made. I'm going to ride to work today and get a better feel for the bike. Maybe I went wrong somewhere when I put the map onto the pcv.

There's always a bit of popping with an open exhaust. The BOP help to reduce them... but still there a bit.

You can always try to copy and paste the 0 column from RevD or C into revB. It did help a bit with the popping... but still there around 6K or so.

I might try that. It wasn't as bad this morning once the engine was warmed up. Am I suppose to mess with anything else on the pcv software? All I did was download revb to it.

Oh ya, when it's cold it run like crap... remember now. When the temps get over 180-190 range the bike run much better! Stick with this map for a bit... maybe it's just a matter of getting use to it.
