How do you all travel with a spare helmet?

HEY!!! I almost purchased a 2012 Ninja 1000 on Saturday... I was within Literally seconds of doing it. 2012 NEW Leftover for only $8999 (NOT trading in FZ6R). Wife said go for it if absolutely sure can afford payments if we got approved on financing..
I crushed my desire for instant gratification though and am holding off for the FJR. Checked insurance today. Ninja 1000 would be $68/month for me and the FJR only $40.

it makes no sense to me why the FJR costs less for insureance as when you lay that thing down it's going to cost more than double what the ninja 1000 will cost you....

but yeah, I can understand the want for cheaper insurance but for me it's almost negligible for me to get either or. They cost only a few dollars difference for me it seems.

pics please? and this is while riding? or simply while parked somewhere

Yes this is while riding. I just put the supplied cable through the metal clasp of my helmet and put the seat back on. Seems to work perfectly. I'll take a pic and post it when I can.

Sat on the FJR at Yamaha demo days. Could not believe how light and balanced it felt, considering its weight. It wasn't available to ride, unfortunately.
However, this is most probably my next bike:

Here's how you do it:

This may seem like a great idea, but if the bounces around in there it'll not only ruin the paint job, but depending on how long you rode...I imagine you'd compromise the safety of the helmet!

Speaking from personal experience. :o:facepalm:

I think the net and it sitting in the passenger seat is the best econnomical option at this point. alhtough it is not locked there are no worries of it bouncing and rubbing on tire. maybe a combo of both

That's what I use and I've never had a problem. Sometimes I even put small loose objects on the inside of the helmet and I havn't had a problem with them coming out!

The couple times I have needed to (which weren't long runs to pick up)
I just slipped my left arm through and out the visor opening, with my elbow resting inside the helmet.

:postcop: def not the safest should I had come off but worked for free
