highway roadrage toward a biker

I'm not saying the cager handled it in the best way, but I see the bikers in this case being the aggressors. The car didn't just all of a sudden start to ram these bikers. The cager was being harassed by a group of bikers. That would scare most people quite a bit.

Also, if you notice when the car looks like it is trying to pin the bike into the semi, there is a biker riding close on the car's right side. He may have been swerving away from that bike harrassing him. You have a swarm of crotch rockets harrassing you, which is absolutely what they were doing, I'm not gonna fault you for defending yourself.

But IMO, the car was clearly trying to get away pretty much the entire time, and he's got a whole bunch of bikers intent on not letting him extract himself from the situation. Not to mention if a car has swerved into your lane once or twice, you are an aggressive moron for pulling you bike alongside that car multiple times after that. Pretty stupid on their part.

I kind of agree with you too. In this case, as in MOST road rage incidents, BOTH parties are at fault and responsible for the problem. And, like a lot of videos posted/aired like this, they are edited to favor the ones claiming to be the victims and only taken from that one point of view...so, I find it very difficult to automatically take one side without looking at all the facts and circumstances. Unfortunately, there are a majority of people that jump to conclusions right away and get it all blowout of proportion.

I can't try and defend either of the parties in this video. They were all a bunch of idiots.

I've watched the video several times now and I think I figured out what provoked the bikers and the cager.

At about 12sec the camera bike swerves and gets on his horn, either the car tried coming in his lane or the biker was just being stupid. But at about 25 sec you see the car pass within about a ft of the biker in his lane, I think that's probably what started it all, or at least what pissed the bikers off.

Honestly, those double-digit IQ havin' morons would have deserved any death/dismemberment they might have suffered. I don't count them as "fellow bikers" and I sure as hell don't have any symapthy for them. It's hard to tell, but it looks like these squids started it by buzzing the car. The car, in response, buzzes one of them to get them to back off. Darwin almost finished the rest of the encounter.

I have no respect for people like this, and if they die? Good. One less person breathing my air. These are the douchebags who give the rest of us a bad name. :spank:

As far as I can tell the d-bags were the ones who were f-ing with the cage. Seems the guy tried to get them to leave him alone, they should have had wrecked. Maybe if the riders were resonable, or at least attempting to act like they were not a-holes I wouldn't have felt like they should have crashed.

I was going to say the same thing. The bikers started F-ing with the cager first. The cager honked at the biker. Then the bikers started swerving into him...the guy with the camera clearly swerves into his lane right beside him early on.

The cager at that point, surrounded by pissed off bikers, may very well have feared for his life and that's why he started swerving. The bikers could have left the situation at any time. As far as I could see, they initiated the confrontation.

I gotta say, if a pack of squids start F-ing with me like that on the road, I'm definitely going to take it as a threat. And me swerving into you would be the least of your problems at that point.

I agree, IMO all the bikers faults! A lot of douche baggery there, they should have all just moved on/away, instead they put themselves and others on the road in danger. Absolutely stupid.

Due to editing and such, we can't really see for certain what started the mess. I'm inclined to agree that the bikers started it. They are a-hole-ish stupid squids.

However, in order to justify the cager's actions, the bikers had to do something fairly extreme. Flicking someone off, swerving towards the cage, or honking horns do NOT justify the cager trying to kill the guys, which he pretty clearly tried to do. So short of the bikers ramming the bike into the cage first, pulling out a knife or gun, or vocally threatening to kill him, I put the cager MOSTLY at fault.

we had a guy in a truck do this to us a year or so back on 495... he just came up on me and started honking, came into my lane, etc... then rolled down his window and started hollering... best I can figure, someone we were riding with cut him off and he decided to take it out on the rest of us... fortunately, he never actually hit any of us

It cracks me up when people want to fight on the side of the road. First of all, just no. I will do anything I can to avoid a fight, and my bike jumps to life so much faster than your car that I can be a memory before you can even figure out that I've taken off. Second of all, if it was yes, I'm wearing boots, knee and shin pads, hip pads, elbow and shoulder pads, a spine protector, a breastplate, a helmet, and I have gloves with carbon fibre over my knuckles. I'm not invincible, but I like my odds of taking a punch or two clean if I have to before I can get a solid, hard-shelled knuckle in to the side of your exposed face. People really don't seem to think too hard sometimes.

Dont know what really started it but i can tell you if a swarm of bikes starts messing with me im gonna swerve at em too. Sorry but too many bikers think they own the road and that every cager should submit to motorcycles on the roadway. Yes cagers should keep an eye out for motorcycles but its the bikers responsibility to stay out of harms way. Bikes are hard to see especially if they are speeding even if your looking for them. Hey im a rider too but there are alot if idiots on bikes out there that ride around just waiting for a cager to make a mistake so they can fly off the handle about it. And it goes the other way too ...just sayin.

I dunno, I was just involved in something like this as most of you know from my post. It appears the driver got aggrivated once they tried to move over "without signaling" as the first bike passed them and the second bike was in the process of passing him/her. It should have ended there. Sadly the car driver decided to let rage get the best of them and gun in front of the bikes, very recklessly I might add. Ok.. the cager is a douche cougar... instead of the bikes avoiding the car and moving on... they start speeding up and crowding the cars lane..... why? This should have never escalated to this level. After this point the car driver appears to be trying to intimidate back and scare them off... in which he only enrages them further... so now you just have a group of angry frustrated bikers against a angry/possibly scared reckless driver trying to react against a group of bikes. :facepalm: :disapprove: Very poor decisions on both the riders and the car driver's parts. Boo to both parties. Don't f*$k around on a public road, notify authorities or diffuse situation by putting space between aggression/aggrivation. :thumbup:
