those are the 2013s. they stopped selling the 250 in the U.S. (and maybe in some other countries too, idk) but they are still selling it in some countries. If you look at the side fairing and the muffler you can tell those are the 2013 models. the 250s and 300s basically look the same, the engine power is the difference.

Different models for different countries depending on what the people want, smog, taxes, etc. A few other countries do have a new 250cc, but we have the 300. We still have the Ninja 650R, but Canada gets the same bike with a 450cc twin instead. Iirc the 250 and 300 share a frame, as do the 450 and 650. So right now Kawi is making a 250, a 300, a 450, a 650, a 636....... Something for everyone!

Also Honda is releasing multiple 500cc bikes to the us and global markets looking to dominate where Kawisaki has to so long
For about the same price I hope the CBR500 sells better than the Ninja 300. I started on a 500 and it was perfect for me. That and I've seen INSANE mark ups on the new ninja. People are going otd on them for more than what some people are going otd on their FZ6Rs.
Not in the US. There are still a ton of 250s around and they still list them on the US Kawi website, but it's the leftover 2012 model.
Outside the US, they are selling a 2013 250. If you look at the picture, these clearly have the newer lines and twin headlights of the 2013 models.

Last year Canada had the 250, 400 and 650 Ninjas. This year they are getting the 300 and 650, same as us. I'm guessing that Kawasaki decided on one engine per frame in North America. The smaller one can be either a 250 or a 300 depending on the part of the world, the larger can be a 400 or 650. Not uncommon. Car makers do this all the time too.
