Flat tire :(

Woke up today, beautiful weather to ride in jersey.

Took cover off the bike. Rear tire is flat

Can't wait to get home to see what happen.

At least that, I caught on time, what it sucks is that the rear one and is not cheap

Where is it stored? Garage/Out?... Hoping that it is out and some idiot just let the air out... Or that maybe your valve is loose? I'll send wishes that it is not a damaged tire for you!!

I wheelie 24/7 to cut the chances of getting a nail in half.

I got a paper tac stuck in the front tire when I first got the bike. One of those plastic handled ones. Right in one of the grooves...and later that summer I had some asshat throw a handful of nails out of his driver side window because he had a hard on for bikers. My brother was in front and I was in rear.. he made it through but I rode over one because it was in the dark and it happened quickly.

But your right, always seems like its the rear, which seems odd when you think about it.

The rear is wider and has a wider contact patch, so maybe it's not so odd:

The back is easier to ride out a flat on too, something to be thankful for

Obviously. But with the front tire being, well, in front , you would think it would get first dibs on the nail.

You could save some $$ by jamming a plug in it and riding it to a tire shop. Plugs aren't a long term cure but this is exactly the situation they are intended for. Much cheaper than a tow, just ride nice and easy with the plug in.

I dodged a similar possibility a couple weeks ago but found the nail in time to go replace it before loosing air..

Ditto on the plug it and ride it to wherever someone will replace it for you. Alternatively, join the AMA; they tow a bunch of times for free every year, and fight for riders' rights. Something like $49/year.
