It's 10 below 0 outside & you keep your bike either outside or in the garage but you say screw it, Your going to brave the conditions & go for a ride even though if you throw water in the air it turns to snow before it hits the ground. Your a hard core gamer!

What Oil would you want in the bike?

as i sit here in 80 degrees i can't help but think that if you go out in 10 below zero period, never mind on your bike, that "hard core gamers" is a bit of an understatement. Do they make like a 1w10 ?

Mobile does 0W40 & 0W20 for cages in full syth. Not sure gor bikes... 10W40 should be fine, just let it warm up. Heat exchanger will warm up the oil.

You do realise that some people work outside right?What's a psychiatrist going to say, quit your job and don't go outside for fun?

Yes absolutely. Riding a motorcycle and working outside are two different stories.

I'm no Oil expert, but from my understanding 10w only good for temps down to 0*.
I believe for -10* you will need a 0w based oil.

agreed, dont see to many people "working" outdoors riding at 40-60 mph with no protection. In fact you dont see too many people outdoor working at all in -10 degrees unless its like the airport or mail men or something. However ours stay in the car.

And Those that do "work" outside do so in short increment of time...

Seems that 10w at -25C = -13F is good but 5w (-30C = -22F) would be my choice.

Um I lived in canada for 6 months Aug - February...

-17F high temperature...don't be outside for more the 15 minutes...eyes freeze.

I know you've dealt with alot of cold, I wasn't debating that or trying to be a ***.Just making my point about working outside.Warming up in a vehicle is a last resort that a good employee would only do for a very brief time in the most extreme circumstances if at all on most days.Screw my personal experiences, on icey days it takes my mailman like 3 hours to walk his loop down my street lol.If he can do that then I'm not complaining about a 5 minute ride to the store, I'm enjoying it instead.
