Brake fluid

I've had my bike a little over two years now, so it's time to change out my fluids. Can someone recommend a good brake fluid ? I've heard good things about Motul rbf600 and Amsoil. Any opinions about them ? Thanks

I used Motul and it seems fine. I changed to stainless steel lines at the same time, so can't really compare to the original fluid. I can say that I experience little to no fade at the track, which is about as extreme as it gets.

I'm due too, gonna swap brake lines to stainless steel as well. Figured I would do it while doing the fluids. Brakes are a little too spongy for me.

No, haven't looked into It yet. I know I'm getting galfer braid steel lines. Haven't checked out fluids. Probably not huge differences in fluids.

Other than having a higher boiling point, is there any other differences between racing and regular brake fluid. Does racing fluid need to be changed more frequently? Would there be any problems running the racing fluid on the street?

Unless you do track days, use the cheap stuff. I used the Valvoline DOT 4 from autoparts for years... no problem. Bleed them more often instead.

While you're at it, put on EBC HH Sintered pads. It'll feel like you've added a 3rd rotor! [emoji4]

I put those and stainless lines on my 6R at the same time and I was truly amazed at the improvement in stopping power.

Holy $h1t, was just pricing everyone out and for all new ebc pads, galfer stainless steel braided brake lines and fluids it's
A little over $200. Another $25 if I wanna buy a bleeder setup. If I'm gonna do it, I'm gonna do it all at once. I've modded everything (almost), but stock brakes aren't very good.

Our brakes are easy enough to bleed without a fancy set up. I just use this cheep thing from Harbor Freight. $6.99 when it's not on sale, I think I caught it when they had them for $2.99.

One Man Brake Bleeder Kit

It's got a magnet on the jar, so I just attach the tube to the bleeder fitting then stick the jar onto the brake rotor. I find it easy enough to do it the old fashioned way using that jar.

I used a water bottle with a leftover clear hose I had in stock for years... lol

Now I have a tricky vacuum pump that I plug on the compressor... got it for the cars but work well on bikes too
