    Backpack vs Tailbag vs Trunk

Joe Rocket makes an expandable tail bag that holds helmets very easily. With carefull planning you can pack enough clothes into it for a 3 day outing. (Jeans, shirts, underwear, socks, toiletries etc).

getting back on after a fall

Try going to a track riding school when the weather permits. You'll learn an absolute ton about riding, and it's a perfect place to get your confidence back under the guidance of a professional instructor. Everyone's going the same direction, no oncoming left turning douchebags etc.

    ContourHD 1080p

It's nice, but be forewarned - the Contour series has next to useless sound quality. Anything over 40 mph and all you hear is HIISSSSSS from the wind noise. Tried it in the waterproof casing, no better. I've got both the GoPro 1080 and the Contour Roam - use the Roam on the helmet or facing...

Bike Down = New Project for winter

Instead of replacing the tank, simply bondo it up (if and only if it's not leaking at the creases etc), sand it so the curves match the other side and repaint. Your bike is gloss black, so it's an easy match with the paint.

    My First Get Off.

You can bondo up the tank and repaint it instead of trying to get it fixed by a body shop etc. Save you TONS of money that way. Otherwise, a tank will no doubt be $350+ at a wrecker.

    First bike shame

Before hitting a track day on your own, I strongly recommend taking a school track day first. You'll learn *TONS* - so much you can't put it all into your bag of tricks all at once. Spend the extra money and get a rental bike so you're not worried about dumping it as much, and you won't have to...

In line 4 vs V twin (Ninja 650 vs fz6r) what's the main difference

We're talking Apples to Oranges here guys... Parallel twins have 2 larger bore cylinders side by side (Ninja 650). I4's (FZ6R in this case) have 4 much smaller cylinders in a row side by side. Any twin will not be able to rev as high due to the larger bore and longer stroke. That's what creates...

    FZ6R Down..... and totaled...

Bummer that you're down and out, and the bike damage sure hurts too.... Can the insurance company or police write the bike off as irrepairable? If not, you may be able to get it up and running again for well under the $5K you're thinking of. If the frame is straight, it looks like the main...

    entry level race suits?

Can you post up shots of the final product when you get it? I'm very curious to see the overall fit-finish-quality etc.

My first time being a sweeper

Not to be an ass, but did anyone else notice the myriad of problems with the entire group, not just the noob? Leader chose to ride in passing lane for much of the ride, even when slow lane was open. Leader chose wrong track in lane often. Noob, well, just won't go there - pretty obvious all in...

Dragon in July - Trailer Pool from Ontario???

Hiya.... Heading down to the Tail of the Dragon somewhere in the middle 2 weeks of July. Plan on making it a 5 day round trip (Down 1 day, ride 3, back 1 day). Anyone interesting in tagging along? We can split travel costs to make it reasonable. I have a small pickup truck that could...

    Dropped it hard

Glad to hear you're on the mend... But, not to be jerk, I'm wondering about your "Lock up the front brake" tactic. It sounds like your launch got caused by a high side - there's not really any other reason I can think of that would kick you off the bike the way you were. Maybe the front wheel...

Fiance's wanting a bike, little help on choosing the right one?

Ok, here's a bit of info from personal experience then (neighbour is similar size to your girl, but she's athletic -- works out 4 times a week with a trainer and twice by herself). My neighbour bought a GS500 last year -- thank God it was a used one. She's dropped it several times in her...

Like to air brush my black helmet

Just remember to leave the DOT stamp masked off when he airbrushes it - otherwise your certification is null and void (if you're in a state that requires helmets). I've airbrushed quite a bit in the past - make sure he wet sandpapers with about 1500 grit between layers for a super smooth finish.

New bike sat all winter--won't start

Did you run the bike after putting in the stabilizer? It's best to ride the bike for about 5-10 miles after putting in the stabilizer. The fuel sloshing around in the tank will mix it up nicely. If you didn't run the bike, the gas in your fuel lines and injectors/throttle bodies will go...

    Selling My Bike

Well, you'll lose a ton... when I sold mine I lost about 40% in just over a year. *sigh* As for a boat, be forewarned... it's a floating hole in the water into which one must endlessly throw money..
