    Just picked up the 2016 YZF R1S to keep my 2009 FZ6R company. Was looking at a 2012 CBR1000RR, but decided to stay with Yamaha - glad I did. The R1 will get the heart pumping !

    Looking at side view pictures of my bike, I noticed that the exhaust was hanging lower than other ones I've seen on the internet, so I did some research and sure enough it was not installed properly.     Fun with LED's

    Different locations that the bullet LED's can be mounted. The turn signal LED's were ground down flat to give that diffused frosted look and flush mounted left and right.

    Lighting the air intakes !

    Had a couple of extra leds and thought it would be fun to light the air intakes. I used the 3/4" bullet leds and mounted them in the top portion of the intake. They are on a switch to be able to turn them off in case they draw lawful attention.

    Once you have all your fairings off and you have only the headlight fairing to remove, there are four screws indicated by the red hands and there is a really tough one to get to behind the speedometer cluster. Once that is removed, there are (4) 10mm bolts to remove that hold on the headlight...
