I'm curious about that too. I'm guessing by the state of the market around 4-5K. They have dropped the price of the new ones to around 6K, I would expect that to have an impact. I paid about 8K out the door for mine last August before the price of sport bikes tanked. Has anyone recently...

I'd go get one today but I'm just not sure I want to sacrifice the comfort of ride we get on the FZ6R. That price is almost worth the risk of finding out the hard way.

I have the exact jacket that started this thread and love it! I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again. I wear it every time I ride and have had no problems in the past year with it.

Does anyone have any idea what the circle that appears to be in the padding is? It shows up in every picture I've seen of this seat and I'm curious if it is a flaw, or serves a purpose. Is it in every seat or just the few I've seen?

Thanks for the quality feedback. I think the factory seat is pretty uncomfortable. I would love to see pictures of that seat. Is there a way to get a matching back seat? If they aren't the same material I would have a tough time buying it without replacing them both so they match.

I'm curious and hopefully I didn't miss it in another thread, but has anyone seen the Yamaha comfort seat? Are there any pictures out there and if it looks decent is it actually comfortable?

Everyone knows yellow is faster. First rules of building a rice rocket... paint it yellow and put a wing on it... definitely increases speed!

I took a look on ebay for 03-05 R6 cams and they are readily available in the $50 range. Is this a feasible mod? No doubt a better cam would increase the output of the engine but is it possible to be sure that it would fit without trying it?

I just bought Pit Bull stands. I guess it goes without saying that I love them and they are the best stands I could imagine money buying. If you are willing to spend the money, I highly recommend them.

I got the stands today and these things seem real cheap. I'm likely going to send them back. If I do, which stands would you recommend? I'd like to get some that I can keep the bike on for weeks at a time though the winter. I would also like to get a rear stand that I do not need spools for...

I'm with you on that! I love the look of the R6 and I'm sure I'd love the power, but that riding position has to be a killer. I was thinking I might eventually upgrade to the R6S but now that appears to be dead and gone. I suffer from bike envy too much, I'm sure I enjoy the FZ6R much more...

While perusing Yamaha's US site I see that they have updated their sportbike models for the 2010 year. I also noticed that the FZ6 and the R6s are not in the lineup. Are they doing away with those models, or do they have yet to be released? On a side note, the new FZ6R color schemes look...

They were right about that. You should most definitely use both brakes, just be careful not to lock up the rear.

It's just the sticker for the expiration date that is reflective.
