    Just Bought an FZ6R

I think some of my comments may be taken out of context ... where did the "bash the noob" come in? I've ridden many different bikes from sportbikes to cruisers, owned both, and I love all different bikes. The point was that I don't believe I've seen the same level of bashing on this site in...

Cartridge fork emulators / RaceTech Gold Valves

So, if I focus on the front end emulator setup with Race Tech, is it going to throw off the rear end dynamics that much if I stay with stock? I'm ok with the preload adjustment since dialing it up (to 6) kept it more stable in the hills and hard riding. Or will I need to change the rear set up...

Cartridge fork emulators / RaceTech Gold Valves

Good to know since I have hardly any experience with suspensions. I'm leaning towards the Race Tech emulator setup then instead of just the hyperpro spring kit. I'm also going to do my brake upgrade as well (SS lines front and rear, new pads) ... now I don't know which one I want to do first...

    Just Bought an FZ6R

Yes, the folks here are very friendly and helpful. Stirring the pot a little though (me that is), I read some of the discussions on the FZ6 site and the majority of the members there really bash our bike (R). You would think they'd be more mature, but instead they act like a bunch of...

Cartridge fork emulators / RaceTech Gold Valves

So, I did a check on Race Tech's site and it says the stock spring rate for our front is .900 kg/mm which is pretty good for stock. I played around with the numbers and using 180lb rider and 470 lb (wet) bike weight it says the new recommended front should be .943 kg/mm. 200lbs is .973 kg/mm...

    Decal Removal

Why may I ask? You're not going to leave it on there and I'm sure you won't have any fire around. Put on, wipe off, clean and buff and anything else will evaporate in no time. You're not dousing it, you only need a tiny bit. But, it's cool, if you're not comfortable then you shouldn't do it...

    Bell Star helmet

My boss has the Bell Star Cerwinke model (black and white sharpie graphics, carbon fiber shell) and he has the auto-tinting visor. I can tell you it works great, even gets darker than my dark smoke visor that I wear all the time on my helmet. Pretty quick transition and very clear. I may get...

    Decal Removal

Please try a little lighter fluid. When I had my tank decal on, I used a heatgun (carefully, just enough to heat the decal up ... use a hairdryer as an alternative), peeled, then put ligher fluid on a cloth and it wiped right up. Seriously, super easy and took a total of about two minutes and...

How to adjust chain and rear wheel alignment

This is a great article/how-to. I adjusted my chain today and it seems like they came awful tight from the dealer. Mine only had about .5" of slack the whole time I've had the bike (6k on it now), and I adjusted it to right about 2" of slack. Feels wierd when I touch it while parked, but felt...

    Removing Decals

Think we covered this in another post, razor blade is very tricky, risking nicks/scratches so be careful. I used the hair dryer/lighter fluid method as have many others and it's very fast and, again, you can't ever tell a decal was there. Quick, clean, and harmless. But hey, to each his own...

    Removing Decals

You can speed this process up a bit by using the hair dryer to warm it up, just a little, and then use some lighter fluid to take the decal off. Comes right off, takes about two minutes total and then wipe off the tank. Comes out beautiful, cleans the tank right up, and you can't tell there...

what is a good price for fz6r tires

Is that for the set? I've heard a lot about the Shinko Raven 009s being a very good tire and for less than $170/set. I'm close to replacing mine and have read a lot of positive reviews about them.

    Need new Helmet Suggestions!

True WBW did not have good things to say about the EXO1000, but they give very good reviews for the 400s and 700s. I have owned both as well as currently owning a Bell Star Roland Sands C-Note. The EXO700 is a very good helmet, and the Bell Star is the absolute best I've worn. I've tried all...

    How many have removed decals

Why so cynical? Several people have done it over time including myself ... works like a champ, zero harm to the paint. Shall I ask the same about a razor blade to the tank??? You don't need to be an expert with the lighter fluid ... just a little heat as stated in my post and you will have a...

    How many have removed decals

Still not sure why it's so difficult for folks. I don't remember which post, but heating up (just a little) the area with a hair dryer first and then using lighter fluid on a cloth made the process very quick and painless.
