I will dig them out and check. I did rave about you post/pics to the guy at Roaring Toyz when I ordered the parts. The bike has done great since I installed the parts. I lowered the front 1 1/2 inches.
Thanks!
Thank you for this post, and the kickstand post. The link actually came with black and white copies of your photos and instuctions from Roaring Toyz!
Here is the after photo:
Sorry you have had such a bad run lately.
I am sure this is a bit late for this, but chances are the thief does not have an 09 FZ6R and will have to sell the parts.
Have you been checking ebay and craigslist?
So true. I am sure it is just a matter of time until the aftermarket catches up to us on the FZ6R. It is, after all, a first year bike at this point...but, I gotta say, a great bike at a great price. That said, again, just a matter of time.
Here is the same thing for the Yamaha R6, $275, it is longer but appears to be short enough that it would bolt to a small bracket mounted to the footpeg or rearset. There is a sound clip and video.
2008-2010 Yamaha R6 MGP Growler Exhaust, Bolt On, Carbon Fiber Canister/No Power Commander...
How about modding something from other midship design bikes with more aftermarket support? Here is an exhaust for a Honda cbr1000rr for $275 that could be modded, quite easily, I'd imagine, to fit our bikes. I am sure there are others for that bike and possibly for Buell and other midship...
That is so funny I had the same experience with left and right side! The left came right off, the right was pick pick pick little pieces at a time, true PITA!
SilenT,
After seeing you pictures I went and looked at my left side. The bracket is touching the cover, but not as bad as yours would be before grinding, but it is touching and the there is a small space where it mounts to the engine bolt on one side. So obviously it tightened more on one...
I installed the T-Rex Sliders tonight and had a different problem. On the right side the bolt was way too long and threaded wrong. I tightened it and the bolt was only part way in, the slider was loose and moved about 1 1/2 inches out. I backed out the bolt and there were fine metal shavings...
I am about to pull the trigger on a lowering link and lowered kickstand from Roaring Toyz on their buynowroaringtoyz.com site. There is a spot to enter coupon codes, some googling has been without luck.
Does anyone know one...or is there a group buy coming up, or can we put one together?
Thanks!
Has anyone had any negative experience with the Roaring Toyz lowering kit, or lowering in general. I am considering it with my days old FZ6R but have heard bad things about lowering with links and with sliding the forks up the triple tree.
Thanks!
Brooke
