I just popped in to check on the forum after an extended leave. Glad to see a familiar face Marthy. I recall when you you first put those cams in and we were all cheering you on. The buy back was a good move and glad to see she is back on the road. At 70 I still ride the 6R, bought new in 09 and...
Just wanted to say hey to all the longtime members I used to spar with like Jay. It's been a while since I have been here. The site looks great and there is tons of info for all us FZ6R riders. Take care, ride safe, and happy holidays!
Doing great, how about yourself. I'm retired now and doing my own thing. Believe or not I just tuned in here to see if you were still around. I really don't get on here very often as you can see. I am still riding the FZ6R every summer. I hope you are doing good and are happy!
Just got back from a funeral service for an old friend and fellow rider. This guy was a legend in our area. He rode dirt and street for 60 years. Flat out was his style! He was just a great old gentleman. He had a stroke about ten years ago and could no longer ride. I was visiting one day and he...
Check the rim carefully for a nick or dent where the tire seals. Maybe look inside the old tire for a patch or hole. There may be a reason someone put that tube in besides not being aware it didn't need one. I worked in tires for years. Good luck!
You are a hard man Don, but I agree 100%. I've been told I'm a little hard myself.(At least that's what she said) It is hard to tell a rider he doesn't know what he's doing, because those kind know it all. They have to learn the hard way.:(
Good luck with the new adventure! I have changed jobs a few times and it always seems to work out for the better. My last change was to retirement and that was my best move yet.:D
R.I.P rider. So sad. Keep a sharp heads-up at those intersections riders. I have been riding 45 plus years on the street and I treat every intersection as a potential threat. Ride safe!
I bought mine in July of 2009 and it is a great bike for my type of riding. I do day rides of 150 miles to visit people and love every mile of it. It's all the bike I'll ever need.
It sounds like chain maintenance was neglected. I would replace it with quality parts. I use "Driven" sprockets. The chain is your life line, don't buy cheap crap and take good care of chain and sprockets with routine maintenance. Sprockets are made to fit certain bikes. Make sure they are...
