Here in socal the cagers don't do so well with the rain. People seem to drive too fast or too slow. I don't mind riding in the rain but it can be a bit scary knowing most people are not looking for motorcycles on the road when it's raining.
-Getting on the bike after a crappy day at work and forgetting all about it
-Watching Isle of Man and heading out for a "spirited" ride before the enthusiasm dies down
You guys are dead on - safety is number 1 when you are riding with a kid. We started slow just going around the neighborhood with frequent stops for a kind of after action review. My daughter had a hard time remembering to hold on so until we found the harness I put her in one of my large...
Same here. I grew up on the back of my dad's bike. Had my first bike when I was about 8 years old. That probably explains why I prefer to be on 2 wheels and don't think it's the least bit crazy to take my kids for rides.
Anybody else out there ride with kids as passengers? I ride with both my 5 year old daughter and my 8 year old stepson.
We use this harness this helmet.
Honestly I thought more people would think I am crazy for taking kids this age out on a bike but we get nothing but thumbs up from...
I went with rice but I want to make sure to clarify that means Yamaha. I have an infiniti also but I can't stand to be in a cage. Used to have a 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge. Ran out of money and time before completing the resto but I did get to drive it a few times and it was magical.
The T-Rex sliders only need a few washers added to them. It's not a huge deal to add 2-3 washers while installing. They are still are great purchase for the price.
On my way to/from work I wear slacks unless I'm expecting rain. Then i wear some textile overpants with knee protection. On the weekends usually just jeans. I feel the most prepared when I have my overpants on but since they are a pain to put on while wearing shoes I don't wear them as much as I...
My wife decided to take up riding this year and she went with a Ninja 250. I wasn't too thrilled with her buying new but that's what she wanted. I rode it for a while before getting the FZ6R and had plenty of fun on it. It's a good bike that has ample power to keep up with traffic but not too...
I was quoted $200-$250. Decided to do it myself. Spent about $100 on a stand, oil/filter, chain lube and some miscellaneous tools. The most satisfying part was not the savings but knowing I did it myself.
