That harbor freight stand has horrible rubber padding on the swing arm rests. The very first time I used it, the rubber started to peel off. If you get that one, expect to have to replace the rubber with something immediately. I used a few furniture feet felt pads.

Install is as easy as using an allen wrench to take the old ones off, and 2 allen wrenches to put the new ones in....Should literally take 5 minutes to do. Do you have any pictures of your handlebars Mike? Try to post one that has the bar ends at one of the angles of the blue ones in this pic...

No, they don't light up....Thats just metal, and the camera's flash just kinda makes them look like LED's. ;)

Probably would't be too hard to paint. Since they come apart, you wouldn't have to risk getting any paint on the carbon fiber inserts. Really, the only hard part I see is not getting it into the 6 holes on the outside.
