Liter bike upgrade?

I'm now seriously torn on my next bike. I don't know whether I should stay in the 600 range or jump up to 1000. The bikes I have in mind are:

BMW S1000R (2014)
Aprilia Tuono V4 ABS (2013)
Triumph Daytona 675R (2013)

I've logged about 11k miles on my fz6r since june, so I guess my experience is alright. I've just heard scary stories about liter bikes popping wheelies effortlessly cruising while my 6r I have to pop the clutch in order to do so. Any input about liter bikes would be great!

Thank you!

BMW S1000R is what I would do.

But honestly I've had more fun riding around on my Ninja250 than my FZ6R. I just like being able to pull the throttle and actually feel like I'm doing some work instead of me just relying on the bike to do everything.

Nice selection, makes for a tough choice.
I think I would choose the 675r,
but then the BMW has always had a thing for me

Dont worry about popping wheelies, just because it is a 1000 bike
It isn't going to unexpectantly become some crazed Stephen King inspired moto!
It will only do what you tell it do,
unless your right wrist has a squidlt mind of its own.

Save the money and get a standard 675. No need for the R.

The front of my FZ1 only comes up on me if I act like an a$$hole. Control yourself and you will be ok. All cool bikes, can't say much against any of them except they're expensive as hell! If you have the dough, though, spend it on whatever makes you happy!

Nice bike Marty! I'd like to test ride some of these bikes but the dealerships up here in the north especially NYC don't do test drives (It's been freezing up here too recently).

I've heard wonderful things about the GSXR but I personally hate the ergos, it was uncomfortable on my wrists when I sat on one during the motorcycle show. The only supersports that felt right was the zx6r 675 and s1000rr. 675R appeals to me cause of the ohlins suspension and color scheme for an extra 2k. It also weigh almost nothing and I can just flick it effortlessly!

Since the Fz6r weighs as much as these liter bikes, I figured why not. Also hows the fuel economy and maintenance on these bikes?

I have ridden other bikes in the past and though they where larger displacement. Most where no more powerful than my old 6r.

I have had my CBR1000 now for 2 years and I love it. It does what I tell it to do and does not complain. If I say we ride to work in Chicago traffic at 30 miles an hour or less, no problem. If I say ludicrous speed, then it is ludicrous speed.

Traction control and wheel control are no replacement for what your doing with your right wrist. ;)

Im with Marthy i would get the ninja 1000 or fz1 that has all the power and performance but your not forced to lay on the tank. I would like to know what a "liter" bike is though :)

out of the ones you listed, Tuono would be my choice.

considering the $ you plan on spending, like others have said, don't just limit to either a 600 or 1000, there are a tons of others 750, 800 etc.

hard for me to buy anything now without test riding 1st, if you can't test a new one, unless its the 1st year model, try to get on a used one to see if you really like it

this may help your ergo selection

I personally LOVE the look and wow factor of the Tuono but the forums I've read are scary. Plagued with problems and waiting for eternity on parts. I can't say much about the s1000r since I haven't seen one in person, but the reviews make it sound great and it looks awesome in red!

675r because I did test drive this on my friends bike, felt like hot knife through butter. Controls are spot on and my wrists aren't in a wierd angle like it is on the GSXR.
