ok heres my problem im trying to sell my 09 fz6r i dont have a licence or have evre rode a motorcycle when i started it and let it run for 20+ min yesterday it was still blowing out white smoke dosent smell like oil and isent blue also dosent smell like anti freez just white like steem not shore what i can do but put drygas in it. is their a drain plug somewhere that might drain water if it got in the tank i would assume that water could be it and that water would go to the bottem of the tank the temp outside was 50 and i have started it once a week since i got it any info would help please.

Starting it once a week may be the problem. Do not start it unless you can ride it and get it up to full operating temperature for a good amount of time to burn off any condensation. Its not good on the oil and its not good on the battery or the bike itself.

If you cannot actually ride it, "winterize it". Top off the gas and add some stabil, put clean fresh oil in it and put the battery on a tender.

If it was 50 out side it was probably just condensation, same thing like the stuff that comes out of your mouth when it's colder outside. If there was water in your gas more then likely your bike would be running like crap

blowing condensation is normal. Let it get up to running temp, also don't just leave idle, The fluids will move better and the battery will be happier. At least get it around the block a few times. If not, then a friction drum and a center stand works wonders. Ok it would be a dyno with no software. not hard to make, not hard to use.

its just condensation caused from warm exhaust hitting cool air, no worries. Watch your car/truck this time of year, it does the same thing for quite a while.

but like everyone else said, running it and letting it warm up won't accomplish anything. It needs to be ridden. But if you don't touch it all winter, besides the battery, there shouldn't be a problem either.

A couple of things, 1 water does NOT compress.

2 the water is in the exhaust and the difference in temp.

3 why the hell you buy a bike you can't ride???????

4 go take a riding course! and for the love of god go get some gear...

I'm really lost here

When fuel burns water vapor is created....basic chemistry. That's what you see...not water that has gotten into the engine.

You have an almost new bike and have no license and just make it sit? Why don't you take a course and ride it?

I'm sorry I was mistaken in my earlier post what you are experiencing is smoke coming from your muffler bearings, and the only thing that can cause your muffler bearings to get hot enough to smoke is a carburetor belt slipping, both are very costly repairs but I'd be willing to do a favor for a fellow forum member and take it off your hands for $500. I know you will be loosing money but those repairs will cost in excess of $7500
