Last 4 years I've had a bike I just go out each month and fire it up for 15 minutes or so. Give me the chance to hear her pur as well as charging the battery. Never had any issues...anyone else do it this way?

Problem with this is, if its real cold out side as the engine warms up condensation builds up in the engine. Since you are only running it for a short time the condensation won't have time to evaporate and go out the crank case vents so it will just sit in the engine all winter.

Well I have my bike out in the back office of my work so it's temperature controlled, does that make any difference?

If you're storing your bike indoors in temp controlled conditions for a few months, it'll be just fine.
