does anyone have braided steel brake lines on there fz6r? i was reading reviews on the fz6r and watching review videos and a few people had installed braided steel brake lines. are they hard to do your self? and are they worth getting?
Yes, a simple search would have yielded many different threads that have already been created on this topic. I have the stainless steel brake lines and they are definitely better than the stock lines. Anyone that has a knowledge of brake systems can install them. There are tons of how-to's if you google it. It is definitely worth the time and effort.
hey black i saw your thread somewhere on here with your reflective decals, did you get those local or did you order them and pick the design?
guess i was being lazy XD i have to go to work soon so i didnt bother to search... fail
I don't have them, but they're next on my list after suspension. After riding a R6, I feel a big difference in lever pull and firmness. For the price, I think they're worth it.does anyone have braided steel brake lines on there fz6r? i was reading reviews on the fz6r and watching review videos and a few people had installed braided steel brake lines. are they hard to do your self? and are they worth getting?
I put Goodrich SS brake lines on mine when I put the HH brake pads on. It was a big difference. The HH pads offered a lot more initial bite. The thing I got from the braided lines was better feel when more pressure is applied. I didn't realize that I could actually feel the expansion of the rubber lines. They felt squishy.
I ordered them from Immortalgraphix.com, and just ordered what he had, and laid them out the way that I wanted them off of the bike. I actually got the sizes before I ordered and cut out pieces of paper the same size before I spend over around $100 for graphics. Then I took my time and applied inside where it was warm.
The only reason to put braided lines on the rear brake is for looks.
I just did this. Pure secks
to paraphrase you: Pics or it didn't happen!

Which brake line routing should I do?
first is fine... that's how they are routed from the factory
Except they go left side to right side, not right side to left side.

I set up mine OEM like that to get extra length for my Renthal 787.
