A question on mirrors

Does anyone have a picture of the Carbon D2Moto R6S mirror on a Raven?

I've got my TB Carbon Exhaust, Puig Carbon Rear Hugger, and a FE on order, trying to figure out how the R6S Carbon mirror will look on the Raven.

I don't have those, but the thing to watch out for when putting "fake" carbon fiber parts mixed with real carbon fiber on your bike is that they most likely won't look the same. If your exhaust and your hugger are real CF they should look fine together. But then throw on something like a mirror with a CF print on it, it's most likely not going to match and could end up looking really cheap IMO. I saw a bike that had a CF print rear hugger and it was right next to his real CF exhaust. Just didn't look right.

I don't know of the mirrors that you're talking about, but another option is bar end mirrors. I used smoke signals as mirror block off plates.

What I read in her first post on this thread was: "I used smoke signals as mirror block off plates.", meaning she installed smoked turn signals in place of the old mirror mounts (refer to her pics)

i like the 08 ZX-6R mirrors on our bike....its on mine..no drilling, fits right in.

The pics are really dark, how are they mounted? More details please, like how it handles with them compared to stock!

Looks like he's got them mounted by raising the fork tubes in the triple clamps instead of on the fork tubes below the clamps like with normal clipons. I'd really like to do these but $$$ is so tight now it's not an option.

If that's the case, it looks like he raised the forks a lot! I wonder how much it's raised and how it affects handling?

Those R6S mirrors just don't look right on this bike to me. I like the look of the Trojans alot better.

To each his own. To me, when I had my Trojans on, it looked like I put some random mirrors from another bike on it. The R6S look like OEM mirrors that should have been on it from the factory IMO. Not the CF printed ones, but the actual OEM ones like I got. I'm not a big fan of CF print mirrors either.

If you're relying on your mirrors then I wish you the best of luck in living a long life... yay for head checks!

For me personally... looks go a long way. Functionality obviously has it's place, but at the end of the day, I want to enjoy something aestically as well.

haha, yeah, head checks are for blind spots, not to look behind you like what a good functional mirror can do.

To each his own... if you find a good compromise and are willing to take that risk, go for it.

Me, personally, I'm still running stock, might look into bar ends, because they seem to open up the view a bit, but not in a hurry.
