Fender Eliminator

Could anyone give me dimensions of the space in between the screws and the size etc? I want to try and make my own but it's hard taking it off and measuring everything when it's my only means of transportation and I get called into work.

Or could someone give me the dimensions of the targa fender eliminator?

Just measurements of the bar width from one end of the bike to another. Also the size of the holes for the Turn Signals and the Bolts to hold it on.

Basically I have a Square metal piece and I need to bend and drill holes into. Need to know the space where the bolts are apart and also the width of the bike so the fender won't be longer than the bike =)

i didnt pay anything for mine. I used the original huge ugly bracket just cut it and drilled two holes for the tsignals.

Got my custom made FE, though I'm disappointed in the wire tucking, mainly because I have no where to tuck them.

Similar take on mine. Nice and simple. In Florida, they put "under 21" on your plate?! Why?
As I mentioned in the What Age is everyone thread:

"Not sure if it's just here in Florida, but I get an anti chick magnet on my license plate that is in big bold red letters under my tag:

"UNDER 21"

But hey, it saves my bike if it goes down because of the ladies tugging on my shirt! Sorry ladies."

Basically an Add on package, extra frame slider.

On the serious note though, in Florida the Helmet law is you have to wear a helmet if you're under 21, you don't have to wear a helmet if you're over 21, but you just have to have at least $10,000 in medical insurance.

Ok, that's stupid. So, once your over 21, your deemed "smart" enough to make a stupid choice to not wear a helmet...that makes sense.

Yes, I almost got away with not having a under 21 plate but then the lady remembered.... Sigh..

I always wear my helmet no matter what though, I think it's pretty stupid that you buy all this gear and don't wear it.

Fender Purpose

I agree that the look of the FE kit is better than the stock. But, before I go and lop off a stock piece I was wondering if anyone know the purpose of the fender. I'm a utilitarian kinda person.

That's one of my considerations on keeping the monster attached to my bike, can't look cool with a mud line on your back...
True, but I clean her after every rain ride so... I can't stand to have dots of water everywhere, not to mention the dirt is everywhere even with the mudflap stock fender on there.

Most people I know, myself included, don't ride in the rain. Water and sport bikes don't mix well when you're carving canyons.
I totally agree. I avoid riding in wet weather. I was just stating the purpose of the OEM fender. That was the first thing I took off my bike.

Yeah I'd like to avoid it, but my bike is my transportation, so when it's wet like it has been all week, I have no choice but to tough it out and enjoy the roads either way.
