*****EDIT****** ( not bashing cops), so dont take it in that context.
Most of the time, COPS dont do their jobs correctly.
I had a car when i was younger, just installed a supercharger on it, and literally took it out for a test spin. got onto a local road, 45mph limit, and LIT IT UP GOING 80mph or so. Cop pulled me over, and asked for usual stuff :
license : didnt have it
registration : didnt have it
insurance : didnt have it
cop goes " you dont have your proof of license, registration, insurance, and your going 80 mph in a 45 ?"
I say yes, and explain i just left house after spending all day installing supercharger.
so he lets me go, no tickets at all, just says " be careful, and slow it down"
I had no problem with that at all,cop was coolest dude ever met, BUT, he didnt do his job. He should have written me 4 tickets.
he was just lazy and probably going home.
He was doing his job just fine. There is no madate requiring a police officer to write a ticket. It's called discretion, and it's written in to the law in most of Western society. It is up to the officer to reach the most effective solution in the circumstance, and a charge (ticket) is one of several options available to him/her. Sounds like the officer made the wrong call that day.
